1 Katsuro (Price / Dee): no luck at Caulfield two runs back before hitting the line hard last start.
4 Highland Beat (Hayes & Dabernig / Williams): no luck at all this prep, is drawn far better run here and should improve.
6 Liberty Song (Moloney / C Hall): racing consistently and will lead.
7 Mystified (Balfour / Oliver): hasn’t been suited in past two runs, but drawn better here.
9 Special Diva (Price / Thompson): resuming after racing well last prep, is also drawn well.
10 Palladian (Hawkes / Mertens): down from Sydney and should run to its best.
2 Megablast (Tiley / Melham): Kiwi here for the first time. Has been running well in better races than this.
3 Longeron (Hawkes / Nolen): racing consistently and will get a good run here on the speed.
8 Coldstone (Kent / Mertens): ran honestly at Sandown before being caught wide last start, but still battled on well. Gets Mertens on.
11 Hursley (Waller / Williams): very unlucky last start, should have won. Likes the Valley.
4 Rhythm To Spare (Moroney / J Bayliss): maps well here, won well at Caulfield and put in an honest run last start.
6 Onpicalo (Price / Callow): looks the leader to be the leader, should be suited by the bias.
8 Heart Starter (Weir / B Allen): no luck at all at either Morphettville or Echuca, looks to get a better go at it here.
9 Petrology (Hayes & Dabernig / Parish): runs on well, past two runs have been honest.
14 Data Point (Kent / Mertens): hit a peak figure first-up at Pakenham at worked home well second up. Looks ideally suited to the mile.
1 Floral Fever (Wilde / Williams): racing consistently, maps alright, gets Williams.
4 Leodoro (Kent / Mertens): ran well at Moonee Valley last start on a biased track – arguably should have won.
7 Septamore (Weir / J Allen): ran well in Adelaide second-up before being run down late. Strips fitter for this and ready to peak.
9 Star Stealer (Weir / B Allen): ran well at Ballarat before a slightly disappointing effort at Sandown. Can bounce back here.
11 Fire Agate (Eurell / McNeil): won well first up over the 1000m and looks suited to the 1200m.
