Thursday Night Footy: Broncos vs Bulldogs NRL Preview

Another huge Thursday night NRL blockbuster with Brisbane hosting the Doggies

NRL tips

NRL Tips expert Steve Green is gearing up for another big weekend, starting with the Broncos and the Bulldogs in Brisbane.

The Dogs past two performances have been pretty poor from an attacking perspective, with the Doggies only scoring 14 points in their last 160 minutes of footy. However Coach Pay has shown he is not afraid to punish poor performers, with both Lichaa and Eastwood dropped from his 17.

It looks like Coach Pay may move Marshall-Smith into the role at 9 and recall Frawley…which I think would be a great strategic move. Before he was dropped, Frawley was playing good attacking footy and for a team that is struggling to score points, his skills could be the missing ingredient.

While I really like Marshall-King, he is tough enough to play in the forwards and his zip out of dummy half could be just what is required. Because besides not scoring points, the Doggies are still performing quite well on my system.

So far this year, the Doggies are ahead of the Broncos in metres made, missed tackles and errors. Whereas the Broncos are ahead in line breaks made / conceded, run metres conceded and forced drop outs.

The Broncos clearly have more attacking strike weapons in the form of Milford, Oates and Roberts, but with McGuire injured and McCullough potentially still nursing an injury – as well as Kahu and Gillett still out, I think the Broncos class is getting spread a little thin at the moment.

I think this game will be a really close match and although the Broncos might have just enough to get the win.

Steve has made $2,500 through the first two months of this season already and has tipped members into a bet on tonight’s game.
