Randwick Quaddie Preview

It’s a massive day at Randwick and we’ve got your racing tips sorted. NSW racing expert judge Bryan Haskins brings you his Randwick Quaddie tips.

Race 7: Australian Derby (2400m)

Speed: They should run along fairly here. Pace from 10, 17 and 12, with 1 and 2 close up.

#1 Ace High (David Payne / Tye Angland)
Worked on good speed and went early. gets a better run today.

#2 Vin De Dance (Baker & Forsman / Jason Waddell)
Hard fit and went well enough in the right lead-up race.

#8 Furore (Kris Lees / Brenton Avdulla)
Hard to knock. Keeps improving and was strong when checked late in the Guineas.

#12 Mission Hill (Baker & Forsman / Damian Lane)
Handy horse and I thought it went very well in the Guineas. Will run well.

#14 Belfast (Busuttin & Young / Kerrin McEvoy)
Does come out of the Tulloch but was hard to miss and the 2400 looks sure to suit.

Race 8: TJ Smith Stakes (1200m)

Speed: Thronum may lead and Redzel sit second, or reverse the roles. Jungle Edge also there.

#1 Redzel (Peter & Paul Snowden / Kerrin McEvoy)
Short enough at current price but obviously the one to beat.

#3 Brave Smash (Darren Weir / Craig Williams)
Looks to be in great form and can run a big race here.

#8 In Her Time (Benjamin Smith / Corey Brown)
Outstanding first-up win and can certainly give Redzel a scare.

Race 9: Doncaster Mile (1600m)

Speed: Not sure they will go that mad. Arbeitsam leads with Invincible Gem. Tom Melbourne may roll forward. Happy Clapper not far away.

#1 Humidor (Darren Weir / Mark Zahra)
Top class on his day and well up to winning this. Can get good run.

#3 Happy Clapper (Patrick Webster / Blake Shinn)
Gets a lovely run and has to be in the finish.

#5 Prized Icon (Kris Lees / Ben Melham)
Comes back from a strong 2000m race and can run well here at odds.

#6 Crack Me Up (Bjorn Baker / Jason Collett)
Nothing wrong with the way he’s going. Just needs to find a good spot.

#8 Tom Melbourne (Chris Waller / Kerrin McEvoy)
Could end up with a better run than first appears and run well.

#9 Kementari (James Cummings / Brenton Avdulla)
Has had a perfect prep, has a good turn of foot and no weight.

#11 Lanciato (Mark Newnham / Rachel King)
Really is hard to knock the way it’s been winning, showing a great turn of foot.

Race 10: Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m)

Speed: Looks as though a few will roll forward here including 3,5,7,11,12 & 14

#1 Luvaluva (John Sargent / Kerrin McEvoy)
Looks short enough early but still a big chance of winning, especially with pace on.

#4 Harmattan (James Cummings / Michael Walker)
Lightly raced improving type who could get a lovely run here.

#7 Missybeel (Bjorn Baker / Kathy O’Hara)
Improving type who could be strong here.

#8 Discreet Charm (John Thompson / Jay Ford)
Unsuited to sit and sprint last start. Worth putting in at huge odds.

#13 Jungle Fish (Michael Kent / Corey Brown)
Improver from a smart stable who should enjoy the pace and the 2000m.
