Cox Plate quaddie tips

Track should play relatively even. Assume it will be a Good 3 tonight for the 8 races and there’s no rain around. Later in the day tomorrow they might get away from the rail a bit.

Race 7

#1 I’ll Have A Bit (Mott / Mcardle)
Caught wide last start and battled on well at 1st try this distance. Should be fitter for the run.

#2 Banish (Williams / Cummings)
Terrific win last start against the bias. Steps to the mile for the 1st time and that shouldn’t be a problem.

#4 Mintha (Currie / Mcevoy)
Terrific run 2nd up over shorter trip. Made ground late last start at first try this trip. Should be stronger this run.

#5 Speedway (Mcevoy / Cummings)
On the quick back-up from last week over longer trip when had no luck. May be better suited here.

#8 Touch Of Mink (Shinn / Smith)
Ran well last start in a Listed Race in Sydney. Made good ground late. Looks suited out to 1600m.

Race 8

#1 It’s Somewhat (Mcevoy / Cummings)
Went back from wide barrier 1st up before making ground late. Good record this trip. Can sit closer from inside draw and improve greatly.

#2 Lucky Hussler (Shinn / Weir)
4th up here. No luck last start over shorter trip. Should be ready to improve dramatically here.

#3 Burning Front (Zahra / Weir)
Improved sharply last start. Comes here on 7 day back-up over pet distance. Should be ready to run to best.

#4 Religify (Bowman / Waller)
Ran well 1st up when best of the on-pacers. Should be fitter here 2nd up. Terrific record this distance.

#8 Sound Proposition (Brown / Lees)
Good record this trip. Both runs this prep quite solid and should go well 3rd up here.

Race 9

#8 Winx (Bowman / Waller)
Sounds silly but in some ways I can’t believe she’s such good odds. In a 100% market I’d have her $1.08. Has at least 4 lengths on Humidor and Happy Clapper at their best. Royal Symphony and Gailo Chop the other trifecta chances for mine. Going back in time, this really should only be a field of 4.

Race 10

#1 Cliff’s Edge (Zahra / Weir)
Won well over this distance last start. Backs up quickly again. Should find the front easily.

#9 Aloisia (Nolen / Purcell)
Won Thousand Guineas over shorter trip, but looks staying type. The main danger.
