Trevor Lawson’s Flemington Quaddie: Sept 16th

Melbourne pro punter Trevor Lawson with his numbers for the Flemington quaddie on Makybe Diva Stakes Day.

Tips for Flemington quaddie

Should play even, although we may get significant rain Friday night. There’s a chance of getting 8ml which would make a bit of a difference.

Race 6 (1400m – Mares Grp 2)

#1 I Am A Star (Nichols / Oliver)
Group 1 winning mare who has had two runs back in better company. Better suited back here amongst the mares. Maps well.

#3 Oregon’s Day (Price / Zahra)
Ran well 2nd up and should be fitter for this. Can run to best.

#7 Sword Of Light (Ellerton & Zahra / Lane)
Not really suited 1st up when resuming. Can improve here on home track out to 1400m.

#10 Schism (Maher / Mertens)
Been up a long time but keeps running well. Good record this track and distance. Maps well.

#11 Swampland (Dwyer / Symons)
Arguably should have won last start. In career-best form. Good record this track and distance.

Race 7 (1600m – WFA Grp 1)

#1 Hartnell (Cummings / McEvoy)
Terrific 1st up. Should roll forward here and own this race.

Race 8 (2500m – Listed)

Lloyd x Lloyd x Lloyd x Lloyd

#1 Almandin (Hickmott / Olver)
Ran well 1st up sitting wide entire trip. Should be able to run well off that. Class runner of the race.

#4 Aloft (Hickmott / Melham)
Good run 1st up over shorter trip. Has had 6 weeks between runs but stable has a habit of doing it in the past. Has solid claims.

#6 Hans Holbein (Hickmott / Mertens)
One paced 1st up then got too far back last week. Comes here on quick back-up. Two highest ratings are from races around this distance range.

#13 Crocodile Rock (Hickmott / McEvoy)
Caught on the line last start over similar distance. Should be fitter 3rd run in and does drop 6.5kgs on its past two runs.

Race 9 (1700m – Open Hcp)

#3 Amelie’s Star (Weir / Lane)
Ran well 2nd up over this trip and should strip fitter here and sit closer from inside draw.

#7 Hardham (Brideoake / Nolen)
No luck last start 1st up. Held up in straight. Better suited here out in trip.

#9 Nozomi (Freedman / Mertens)
Produced peak figure at massive odds 1st up and was sound 2nd up. Has claims.

#10 Cool Chap (Hayes & Dabernig / Williams)
Ran well 1st up for new stable. Can improve off that rating. Williams goes on. Can roll forward.

#11 Gallic Chieftain (Weir / Yendall)
Resumes off 77 day break. Should have some residual fitness. Has claims.

#12 Jacquinot Bay (Hayes & Dabernig / McEvoy)
10yo who has seen better days, but is well graded here and maps to roll forward.

#13 Mihany
Returned to form last start. Should be able to cross them here despite wide draw. Some chance.
