Race reviews

Race reviews for Rosehill, May 20th 2017.

Race 1 – John Miller Hall Of Fame Handicap (1200m)

Nothing of note in this race.

Race 2 – George Moore Hall Of Fame (1400m)

White Moss (2nd) – Missed the kick and was shuffled back to last.  On turning pulled to the middle of the track and let down well, especially the final 100m, to just miss the winner. She has been winning by leading so this was very foreign to her and she still ran a top race. Keep following.

Race 3 – Saintly Hall Of Fame (1100m)

Memes (3rd) – Lead at a good tempo and kicked strongly at the top of the straight. The swoopers only got to her in the final 50m and the winner looks to have ability. Keep following her: this is her first defeat this preparation but she is racing full of heart at the moment.

Race 4 – TAB Highway (1400m)

Nothing of note in this race.

Race 5 – Lloyd Williams Hall Of Fame (1100m)

Clear The Beach (1st) – Only 1 start in the past 12 months, so this was a great training effort. Sat inside the leader at a good speed and kicked strongly to hold off the challengers in the final 200m. Just might have a bit of ability and one to follow through the winter months. Still on the up this bloke.

Race 6 – J B Cummings Hall Of Fame (2000m)

Broadside (1st) – Stepping up to the 2000m this preparation and was stuck in chasing the runaway leader. On the turn swept past and went for home holding on for a strong victory. He was entitled to knock up but was just too good. Racing well so stay with him now at his favourite distance ranges.

Race 7 – Winx Hall Of Fame (1500m)

Moher (3rd) – Crossed and found the lead at a solid tempo, kicked strongly at the top of the straight but was just run down in the last 100m by horses that had a lot softer runs. Is ready to win and if can find a suitable race next start will go very close. Keep following.

Race 8 – T J Smith Hall Of Fame (1200m)

Bonny O’Reilly (1st) – How do you knock her? Winner of now 6 from 8 including her last 4 straight. She’s a winner! Settled behind a good speed and when asked for her run she let down like the good mare she is. No need to jump off yet.

Race 9 – Light Fingers Handicap (1400m)

Dagny (1st) – Given a beautiful ride from Berry, she didn’t have to go around a horse. Let down at the top of the straight she put a couple of lengths on them and was eased down to win easily. Good ride and win. She has now won 4 from her past 5. Stay strong with her next start.
