Flemington Quaddie Preview

Race 6

#1 Redkirk Warrior
Won this race last year. Rises 5kg on that. Resumed by winning the Lightning with a blistering finish and has a terrific record down the straight.

#2 Brave Smash
Won over 1400m last start. Maps okay here, first run down the straight is a slight query.
#4 Rich Charm
Has a terrific record down the straight. Was unlucky resuming, goes well second up, this looks like a target race.
#6 Supido
Ran on nicely first-up in the Lightning, has a good record down the straight and will get home hard late.
#7 Thronum
Won well at the Valley when resuming off a short break, then ran well in Group 1 1400m at Caulfield. Will race on the pace, has definite claims.
#11 Merchant Navy
Produced a huge finish in spring to win the Coolmore, and hit the line well first-up running terrific sectionals. Looks a target race.
#14 Booker
Won well first-up at Caulfield, then put in a terrific run in the Oakleigh Plate when caught wide. Maps well and has run well down the straight before. Has definite claims.
#15 Catchy
No luck first-up in the Oakleigh Plate, missing the start and working home well. Has won well down the straight and is unbeaten second-up. Should improve.

Race 7

#1 Shillelagh
Never likely in either run back from spell. Third-up 1600m looks ideal – won the Kennedy Mile third up in the spring.
#3 Samovare
Had to take off early first-up over the 1400m and tired late. Has a good record second-up and should run to best.
#5 Spanish Reef
Terrific win resuming after sitting wide entire trip. Progressive mare ideally suited second-up at 1600m.

Race 8

#4 Gailo Chop
Undefeated this prep. Had a perfect leadup and has produced career peak figure at this distance. Maps to find the front, the one to beat.

#9 The Taj Mahal
Had 3 runs in Australia. Led all the way last start over 2400m, this looks the target race.

Race 9

#1 Prezado
Good record down the straight. Failed last time when over racing and ridden a bit close at Caulfield. Given a soft trial for this and is better suited.

#2 Pretty Fast
Raced on speed last start in a quickly-run 1200m at the Valley and knocked up late. Strips fitter here.

#3 Regimen
Had to go back from the wide barrier at Moonee Valley before hitting the line hard. Better suited here down the straight and can improve.

#4 I’ll Have A Bit
Has run well first-up down the straight in the past. Was stepped up in distance later in last prep, can sprint well fresh.

#5 Freeze Over
Won nicely first-up then went backwards a bit second-up. Third-up now, should be ready to bounce back and run to best

#6 Twilight Song
Undefeated filly, produced good figures both runs. Only concern is not having run down the straight.

#7 She’s So High
Has run well fresh in the past in good class races. Another who hasn’t yet run down the straight, which is a slight concern.

#9 Streets Of Avalon
Has been up a while but is racing well with a peak figure last start. Again, slight concern in not having been down the straight before.

#10 Written Choice
Had a forgettable run first-up at short odds. Runs last prep were good and can improve dramatically on the first-up run.
