Caulfield Quaddie Preview
Track/Rail: Rail out 9m, expecting a Good 4
#3 Snitty Kitty (H.Dwyer / B.Mertens)
Top class mare who resumes here. Unbeaten last prep. Targeted for Oakleigh plate. Should be too good for this.
#2 Willi Willi (C.Widdison / C.Williams)Led all the way last start when jumping significantly in distance. Rises in distance again which shouldn’t be a problem. #9 Bedford (NZ) (A.Freedman / D.M.Lane)Won by ever increasing margin at Caulfield over this trip producing peak figure. Doesn’t have to rate to that here to run clear favourite.
#1 Cliff’s Edge (D.Weir / J.M.Allen)Quality colt resuming. Has run well fresh in the past. Has claims if forward enough. #3 Overshare – (M, W & J.Hawkes / D.Dunn)Not suited from inside barrier down the straight. Better here back around a corner. Can improve dramatically. #5 Muraaqeb (D. & B.Hayes & T.Dabernig / M.J.Zahra)Consistent colt who ran well most runs last prep. Has claims here. #9 I Did It Again (G.Eurell / D.Oliver)Impressive winner this track and distance on debut. Had excuses last two runs. Can run to best here. #10 Bravo Tango (M.Freedman / B.Melham)Closed with good sectionals at Flem first up over slightly shorter distance. Will be hitting the line hard here. #11 Poseidon’s Pool (D.Weir / B.Allen)Ran well last prep. Has claims here.
#5 Malaise (J.Cummings / D.M.Lane)Good win at Flemington when sat wide throughout. Good record this distance. #6 Leodoro (M.Kent / E.Brown)Finally steps out to 1400m after four runs back from spell over shorter trips. Looks like he’s looking for this distance. #9 King’s Command (L. & T.Corstens / B.E.Thompson)Racing consistently. Suited this trip and will be strong late. #11 Sheriff John Stone (A.J.Purcell / C.Caserta)Good effort two runs ago here over shorter distance. Forgivable run last start down the straight. Steps to 1400m for only second time in career. Solid claims if runs trips out. #13 Trogir (P.J.Stokes / R.Bayliss)Soft win here over 1200m two runs ago. Then caught wide throughout last start over this trip. Well suited here from good draw. #15 Manolo Blahniq (NZ) (A.W.Noonan / B.Allen)Racing well without winning but looks like this trip will suit and maps well. Can improve on poor strike-rate here.
