Pakenham Quaddie Preview

They’ve had 29ml in the last 24 hours and may get some more showers Friday morning. Genuine soft track expected and definitely need horses that candle the wet. Jockeys will try to get away from the fence.

Race 6

#3 Jacquinot Bay (Parish / Hayes & Dabernig)
Consistent type who runs honest races. Has handled wet tracks in the past and should be rock-hard fit here.

#7 Riyadh (Bayliss / Healey)
Got too far back last start at Ballarat. Good record this trip and reasonable wet track record.

#8 Another Coldie (Allen / Weir)
Produced peak figure at Flemington and then honest at Donald. Very fit, should handle the wet.

#9 Carraig Aaonair (Williams / Hayes & Dabernig)
Consistent type, been up a long time. Has handled up to dead tracks. Maps well.

#10 Mr Gustavo (Turner / Corstens)
Racing consistently. Big win last start at Moonee Valley. By a wet track stallion.

#11 Silvera (Currie / McEvoy)
Another consistent type. Unbeaten on soft tracks. Can run to best here.

Race 7

#1 De Little Engine (Moor / O’brien)
Got home hard in Ballarat Cup. Strips fitter here for what looks a target race.

#2 Grey Lion (Childs / Cumani)
Racing consistently. Just knocked up late last start. Can hold rating here.

#3 Oncidium Ruler (Mertens / Kent)
Battled away well last start. Strips fitter here 4th run form spell. Stable has set it for race.

#9 Goodwood Zodiac (Baster / Waterhouse & Bott)
Returned to form last start with terrific on-pace performance. Should be rock-hard fit and drops significantly in weight. Trainer/jockey combo on fire.

#12 Anemoi (Dee / Loos)
Improved each run this prep. Should be ready to peak. Improving type and has some wet form.

Race 8

#1 Burning Front (Allen / Weir)
Iron horse having its 6th run this prep. Should be at peak fitness. Slight query on the wet but very honest horse and wide barrier a positive.

#7 Willi Willi (Mertens / Widdison)
Resumes. Won impressively 1st up last time in and continued to improve during preparation. Has run well on wet tracks previously.

#8 Wall Street Wolf (Parish / Hayes & Dabernig)
Consistent type who will forward from barrier. Slight concern on the wet, but has solid claims.

#11 Amadeus (Currie / Kent)
No luck past couple. Can improve here. Unknown this ground.

Race 9

#1 Imperator Augustus (Brown / Weir)
Fourth run in from spell. Should be at peak fitness now. Terrific wet track record with previous trainer.

#5 Mr Churchill (Williams / Eurell)
Not much luck any run this prep. Steps out to favourite distance. Unknown in ground.

#9 Column (Dee / Purcell)
Terrific win last start on soft ground. Only needs to maintain rating here.

#11 Star Major (Beriman / Eden)
Given short break following first up run where worked home nicely for 3rd. Looks suited out to 1600m but unknown in ground.

#12 Florida Keys (Thompson / Carey)
Comes slightly back in trip following some consistent efforts. Unknown on soft, but is by a wet track sire.
