Zipping Classic Day quaddie tips

Rail is true and expecting a Good track. Haven’t raced there for more than two months so it should be in good nick. Probably play typical Hillside where they work away from the fence in the straight.

Race 7

#1 Almandin (Hickmott / Oliver)
On face value was disappointing in the Melbourne Cup but is way down in class in this and doesn’t need to run anywhere near best to be competitive here.

#2 Big Duke (Weir / Lane)
Unlucky two starts ago at Moonee Valley then a terrific run in the Melbourne Cup. Cup horses have a good record in this race.

#8 The Taj Mahal (Hickmott / Melham)
Solid effort last week in Group 1 Emirates Stakes. Steps up to this trip for the second time in his career.

Race 8

#1 Snitzepeg (Weir / Yendall)
Missed kick last time before working home solidly over this trip. Previous runs good for this.

#2 Beau Geste (Cummings / Lane)
Comes through same race where was held up in straight before hitting the line well and unlucky not to win. Likely improver here.

#3 Black Sail (Purcell / Zahra)
No luck last start over longer trip when raced wide. Better suited back here in trip.

#6 Octabello (Price / Oliver)
Comes through same Flemington race as #1 and #2. Not much luck in run. Gets blinkers on here and can improve.

#9 Villermont (Purcell / Nolen)
Had month off since Caulfield run when not a lot went right. Previous run at Benalla produced exceptional maiden figure.

Race 9

#2 Observational (Sadler / Sadler)
Good sectionals late first-up at Sale when never likely. Won 2nd up this time last year. Looks well suited on this large track.

#4 Foundation (Walker / Hayes & Dabernig)
Unlucky three runs ago then pooly ridden in the following start. Had a hard run last start but given five weeks off since. Can improve dramatically here.

#5 Nozomi (Zahra / Freedman)
Never likely past two. Has been racing consistently this prep. Likely improver here.

#6 Raw Impulse (Lane / Weir)
Unlucky not to win last week. Has won both 1800m runs in Australia.

#7 Dodging Bullets (Bayliss / Wilde)
Racing well winning past two. Consistent type who has claims.

#10 Payroll (Oliver / Laming)
Terrific run at Flemington last week when jumping in distance coming off five week break. Only has to hold rating here.

Race 10

#5 Invincibella (Melham / Waller)
Ran well at Moonee Valley in fast run race two starts ago. Got too far back at Flemington before hitting line well late. Can improve here.

#6 Sebring Dream (Oliver / Hayes & Dabernig)
Found the quick jump in distance too much last start. Better suited back here to this trip.

#8 Petition (Zahra / Freedman)
No luck last start when held up late in run. Will be strong late but does have a habit of finding trouble.

#9 Divine Quality (Nolen / Griffiths)
Steps to trip for first time. Held ground in the straight last start in on-pace dominated race.

#10 Mrs Gardenia (Lane / Weir)
On quick back-up from Geelong last week when recorded soft win in quick time. Stable-elect jock goes on.

#12 Red Is The Rose (Bayliss / Hayes & Dabernig)
Racing well this prep winning two of last three. Maps well here and has claims.
