Queensland Winners members receive all of The Professor’s bets at 9am, just in time for minimum bet limits, enabling them to secure the early prices that the bookmakers have got wrong.
On Saturdays, members also receive a full ratings set from The Professor for the main metro meeting, allowing them to follow markets throughout the meeting and bet further should they wish to, where value presents itself.

Doomben Race 4 #5 Makedon: currently $3.60 with TopSport
Finding it very hard to reconcile the price difference between this horse and the favourite, Vogue. Both come out of the same race over 1200m at the Sunny Coast and both were well supported, though Vogue was a bigger firmer and jumped $3.9 vs Makedon $7. Outside of the SP though I think Makedon was a better run in every respect. He jumped well but was taken back to midfield, settling well off of a strong tempo but a couple of lengths in advance of Vogue. Vogue blew the start and settled near last. Both horses were entitled to make up significant ground against the on-pacers who had set a fast tempo out front – and both did – but Makedon ran home with a faster last 600m, 400m and 200m than Vogue running 3rd beaten 3.3L.
Given the relative runs in that race it’s hard to have the difference in price so big here. It’s possible that Vogue just didn’t handle the Heavy going, though I have her running her best rating to date so that seems unlikely. Vogue does go from barrier 12 last start to barrier 2 here, with Makedon jumping from barrier 8, but in a race without a lot of pace I expect Makedon has enough gate speed to be right up on the pace. Unknown here is the former Victorian galloper Henley Miss having its first start for the Sears stable. It has already had strong support, but I’m willing to still be on Makedon given the relative prices between it and Vogue.
