Free racing tips September 30: The Professor at Gold Coast
The Professor holds a senior position within the racing industry, so we’re not able to disclose his full identity. A long-time student of the form (among other things), The Professor is a very successful punter with a long winning track record. Like many of our racing analysts, he specialises in one state – or more precisely, a portion of one state – as he focusses on south-east Queensland.
The Professor focuses on the south-east, covering Eagle Farm, Doomben, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Ipswich, Gatton, Dalby, Kilcoy and Warwick – so members get full coverage of the vibrant Brisbane racing scene, as well as plenty of other quality racing.
Free Racing Tips September 30: Queensland Winners
Today’s major Queensland meeting is at the Gold Coast. The track is currently a Good 4.
The Professor’s best bet comes in Race 5.
#13 Deep Sceiva: currently $2.60 with TopSport
Debut run was extremely good – from barrier 10 burnt across and led over 1200m at Eagle Farm setting a really fast tempo out front going 10L quicker to the 600m than the other 1200m maiden on the day. Kicked clear in the straight but couldn’t hold off the swoopers beaten 1.3L into 3rd with a big margin back to 4th. Should take solid fitness out of that run and from barrier 1 here looks like she might lead loose in this race which is always an advantage but could be an extra advantage if the track plays on pace / on fence as I suspect it might. Would have preferred to have kept Ben Thompson on board but that’s no knock on M Cahill who is solid enough. Looks a clear favourite to me and if can jump and lead easy then I think it’s a huge price here.

How did the betting market go?
The NRL regular season is over… We know how each team finished up, but how about the performance of the betting market? Our NRL Line Ladder measures this – rather than plain old wins and losses, it instead looks at how each team fared against the betting line each week. The final picture is interesting… check it out here.
