BROOKSPIRE won effortlessly at Caulfield last start and showed similar ability in Sydney. She’s a handy horse who, though going to 2000m for the first time, looked last start like she’d handle it,. Goes well.

STEINEM scored strong wins in her first couple, making it look like the 2000m is a cinch, then just got a bit far out of her ground last start (but made up good ground). Looks primed to peak here and a leading hope for sure.

HELA won seven out of seven in Tassie. Ratings are pretty good, in fact her figures are best in her 2100m win three back. She gets a good run on pace here and is clearly a leading hope.

RIPPER RITA I’m not sure why she’s $31. She won over a mile at Caulfield last start and her ratings are progressive. This is her first look beyond 1600m but she gets in midfield and gets her chance. Worth a look for mine.

FLEXIBLE brings Sydney form here which has been a recipe for success in recent years. She was good last start in the G3 Adrian Knox and that rated quite well. Pike on is a plus, she’s another of many hopes.

AMERICAIN ANGEL was slaughtered last start by Oliver and still motored home with much more in the tank. I think the 2000m looks great and think she can certainly win here.

TOKORANGI is NZ visitor and already a winner over 2000m, but has had 55 days off since a failure in their Derby. It’s hard to mark her up but she clearly has enough ability for this.

SIRILEO MISS We haven’t seen her top yet. Her maiden win on debut was excellent and this prep she’s working up towards a peak. Williams on is a plus, another of many hopes here.

LLANACORD is another Kiwi and is also already a winner over the trip. She just failed on a softer track last start but looks one of the few Kiwis better suited on top of the ground. She goes back from the wide gate but gets in.

PERSONAL is last year’s VRC Oaks winner but she’s not in the form she was then, and being drawn off the track is a worry! She’s clearly good enough but the jury is out at the moment for mine.
