Randwick Quaddie Preview
It’s day two of the Championships at Randwick and Bryan is back with his Quaddie tips ahead of a massive day, featuring a record-breaking attempt from Winx.
Race 7: Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m)
Speed: Classic Uniform should roll along. Gailo Chop will be up there. Not the best alley for Winx.
#3 Humidor (Darren Weir / Blake Shinn)
Looks the only danger getting a suck run from the alley.
#9 Winx (Chris Waller / Hugh Bowman)
Not an ideal alley for her and a firm-ish track, but expect she’ll do the job.
Race 8: Sydney Cup (3200m)
Speed: Big field for the Cup is going to produce plenty of pace.
#1 Almandin (Liam Howley / Damien Oliver)
Obviously a leading hope at the 3200m, but does look a touch unders early.
#2 Who Shot Thebarman (Chris Waller / Blake Shinn)
Good late last start. Looks ready to run another big race.
#6 Pre Stwick (Yoshinori Muto / Joao Moreira)
Obviously hard to line up, but must be put in the quaddie.
#8 Auvray (Richard Freedman / Glyn Schofield)
Could be put to sleep on the fence and finish off strong late.
#10 Aloft (Liam Howley / Kerrin McEvoy)
Could be the one on 51kg. Only run at 3200m was a strong win at Royal Ascot.
Race 9: Legacy Stakes (1600m)
Speed: Looks to be some pace from out wide. Should roll along at a nice even speed here.
#1 Daysee Doom (Ron Quinton / Andrew Adkins)
In great form. Went too slow in front last start.
#3 Dixie Blossoms (Ron Quinton / Corey Brown)
Gets a more suitable race here, and loves Randwick.
#5 Silent Sedition (Andrew Noblet / Craig Williams)
Comes here fresher than most. Was a very tough effort in the Coolmore.
#17 Alizee (James Cummings / Glyn Schofield)
Giving her another chance here back to 1600m.
Race 10: Sapphire Stakes (1200m)
Speed: Looks an extremely hard race to finish on. Looks like they will go at a fair clip here.
#2 Ghisoni (James Cummings / Hugh Bowman)
Can go well fresh and gets good pace on, so looks suited.
#3 Spright (Garry Frazer / Jay Ford)
Hard to knock her first up win, running best sectionals of day.
#4 Raiment (James Cummings / Glyn Schofield)
Capable. Back to 1200m with pace on could see her produce her best.
#6 Danish Twist (Kris Lees / Ben Melham)
Worth throwing in at big odds in this race. Can finish strong late.
