Flemington Quaddie tips

Key Bets pro-punter Cameron O’Brien brings you his Flemington Quaddie preview on All Star Mile day.

Big fields will make things tough for punters, but here’s Cam’s early take on how the final four races might go.

Race 6: Grand Mile Final (1600m)

Selections: 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, 14

MAIN STAGE (5) is back well this prep and looks set to peak shortly. MR RECKLESS (6) is one of a couple of Waller runners having first OS run – I like this one better than Lod Goddodin though, whose timeform figures are average. HUSSY’S GLOW (9) is an improver at odds. DIPLOMAC JACK (12) won well here three back, third-up off a letup and is ready to peak. GASWORX (13) is inconsistent but can win and REMEMBER THE NAME (14) was disappointing last start but better than that.

Race 7: March Stakes (1400m)

Selections: 1, 12, 13, 16, 18, 19

SUPER TITUS (19) may not get a run as third emergency, and if he doesn’t, I’d put PLEIN CIEL (7) in there in his place.

I like FOX HALL (18) at odds in an open race. Was back well first-up then a couple of flat ones and is ready to peak. WIDGEE TURF (1) is showing signs also. ZEBULON (13) will probably start favourite and has a solid chance. MAHAMEDEIS (16) and SUPER TITUS (19) are both first-up (the latter first start from overseas) but have the figures.

Race 8: ALL STAR MILE (1600m)

Selections: 1, 2, 11, 13

Thin race for such a big field, there’s a lot of also-rans for a $5m race. HAPPY CLAPPER (1) was great, testing Winx last time and if he repeats that here will be hard to catch. ALIZEE (11) is the in-form mare of the race and hard to beat. HARTNELL (2) showed a bit last start and obviously is the class runner of the race, and the up and coming MYSTIC JOURNEY (13) is a live chance too.

Race 9: Furphy Grand Sprint Final (1200m)

Selections: 1, 5, 6, 9, 12, 17

ENIGMAN (1) returned well at Caulfield and is a class runner. Slight query the rider. MASTERING (5) for Price looks well placed and races well fresh. SEE ME FLY (6) is consistent and back well. SPIRIT OF AQUEADA (9) won well resuming and has drawn wide enough to probably find the outside rail. VILLA SARCHI (12) returned this prep in hot form and can go well here, while BOSS CONI (17) has the figures and has returned solidly enough.

Good luck!
