Race 5 – Auckland Racing Club Trophy (1400m)

Outrageous (1) was caught wide throughout last start. Ran well first-up and can improve here. Zoutori (3) is a promising type who resumed with a terrific win at Pakenham. Only has to hold rating here. Camp View (5) had a good win last start in good time at Pakenham. Drawn awkwardly here but has solid claims if gets clear running. Big Night Out (8) is racing well. Ran well last start and can hold rating here.
Race 6 – VRC St Leger (2800m)
Selections: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 12, 16
Stars Of Carrum (1) ran honestly in the Mornington Cup two starts back, then struggled in the wet last start. Has had the right prep for this trip. Can run to near best. Transact (2) is progressing nicely, has had a good prep and looks suited out to this trip. American In Paris (3) was well held last start. Budd Fox (4) ran nicely two starts back, then was back in trip last start. Steps back up in distance here, has rough claims. Convict Sam (7) is a natural staying type. Ran okay last start before peaking on run late. Has rough claims. Rock Dove (12) has been up a long time. Did run well in Tasmania in February in a Listed race. Close fifth in the Adrian Knox at Randwick – doesn’t have to run that figure to be competitive here. Jenstar (16) is a staying type that’s improved each run. Good effort last start when took off a bit early. Gets good senior rider on. Has claims at good odds.
Race 7 – The Les Carlyon (1710m)
Selections: 1, 3, 11
Call Me Handsome (1) should roll forward from the wide barrier. Williams back on here. Can run to best. Mantastic (3) hit the line well last start at Bendigo. Ready to run to best here. Dane Thunder (11) is racing well for new trainer. Can hold rating here.
Race 8 – Nancy Wake Handicap (1600m)
Selections: 8, 9
Temple Of Bel (8) hit the line well last start. Looks better suited to the big spacious track and mile here. Ready to run to best. Winkelmann (9) ran well first-up. Given time off since. Maps well here, can hold rating.
