The G1 Underwood Stakes sees the Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne begin to hot up, especially with the pesky AFL being finally finished! Four of the last five years have rated fairly similarly, with BHB being the one exception in 2016:
So it can be reasonably assumed that a rating of 111+ is required to win the race.
On my map, there is no natural leader. I have mapped them where they’d like to settle but if they do settle like this there’ll be no pace, so I imagine something will press on and make the running:
My market on the race:
Which makes me pretty similar to the real market, as it stands at the time of writing. However, HUMIDOR is looking like he’ll be a bet for me, anything above $4.20 or so I’ll likely take. It’s not the perfect race for him but he is the clear class runner of the race.
It’s not the perfect race for GRUNT either, for reasons you’ll see below, but he is in top form and will take a lot of beating. If he drifted out to $5.00 I’d want to be on him, but that probably won’t happen. Beyond those two it becomes a hard one to work out and I don’t think any of the longer priced ones are especially good value bets, as things stand right now.
Here is my runner by runner description:
With Spring racing in full swing and with Key Bets covering meetings in VIC, NSW, QLD and WA, now is the perfect time to get on board!
Plus this Sunday, Ladbrokes are paying out on 1st AND 2nd as winners for the opening two races. You can get tips from an expert and then still have double the chance of a collect!
