Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes preview Moonee Valley

The Field

#1 Crack The Code (Mick Price / Damien Oliver)
Barrier 11, 57.5kg

Has won all three this prep. Carries the penalty here and drawn wide out. Will need luck.

#2 Bleu Roche (Matt Laurie / Ben Melham)
Barrier 3, 57.5kg

No luck when resuming when jockey missed the boat at vital stage. Doesn’t have much early speed and inside draw could be a negative.

#3 Spanish Whisper (Hayes & Dabernig / Dwayne Dunn)
Barrier 7, 56kg

Resumes here. Has trialled impressively leading in. Looks a much more settled horse than previous prep.

#4 Humma Humma (John McArdle / Jamie Mott)
Barrier 8, 55kg

Ran on well last start over shorter trip. Has solid record at this distance without winning. Will be charging late.

#5 Schilldora (Richard & Chantelle Jolly / Jake Toeroek)
Barrier 12, 55kg

Consistent filly winning four of past five. Drawn wide here and looks to get back which will be a negative.

#6 Embrace Me (Danny O’Brien / Brett Prebble)
Barrier 13, 55kg

Racing consistently but drawn outside barrier and lacks the pace to cross. Will find itself in an awkward position.

#7 Multaja (James Cummings / Damian Lane)
Barrier 10, 55kg

Impressive winner first-up last prep at this track. Trialled nicely leading into this and was narrowly beaten here at only run this distance.

#8 News Girl (Geoff Duryea / Patrick Moloney)
Barrier 5, 55kg

Racing well, looks the leader again here. Will be thereabouts.

#9 Al Naifa (Tony McEvoy / Luke Currie)
Barrier 6, 55kg

Resumed with two solid runs, then given break before last start when pulled up with lameness and poor recovery. Has rough claims going off previous run.

#10 Lady Day (Peter Burgun / Jamie Kah)
Barrier 2, 55kg

Won past two in lesser grade. Too big a leap here.

#11 Victory Kingdom (Hayes & Dabernig / Craig Williams)
Barrier 1, 55kg

Had excuses first-up then was an explosive winner second-up. Looked to have more to give and can step up rating here again.

#12 Blonde Choice (Maher & Eustace / Linda Meech)
Barrier 4, 55kg

Ran well last start in quickly-run race at Warrnambool. Big jump in class here.

#13 De Little Sister (Pat Carey / Jack Martin)
Barrier 9, 55kg

Outclassed here.

Verdict

In a very wide-open race, Spanish Whisper and Victory look to represent the best value of those I have at the top.
