SAVATIANO is my top pick in this open race. She is in very solid and consistent form, rating 112 or 113 at all her runs this prep to date and has trialled up well since her solid second in the All Aged. Maps to get an ideal run here, camped on the pace, and with Bowman on should get every possible. Go well.

GYTRASH has the highest ratings in the race. Last prep he did 118 first-up, winning the 1000m Concorde at Randwick, then 117 at the end of his prep winning the Yes Yes Yes Stakes. He also did 118 and 117 his previous prep, too. If he can find those marks here he’ll be very hard to beat, however I was disappointed with his efforts resuming in the Goodwood. He went very wide but I thought he could have come on a lot more than he did, and he only rated 108. That’s his lowest figure for nearly two years. If he peaks he wins, but you have to take him on trust here.

SAVATOXL is an on-pacer who, though drawn wide, can come over and sit outside the lead. Has rated very well in his two wins this prep at Morphettville and deserves a crack at a race like this. Trip is good, fit and in form, he should be in it for a long way.

SO SI BON is just evergreen! He led throughout at Caulfield last start, something different for him, but won two-back camping on pace as well. I expect him to camp just behind them here. He’s in super form and with the ideal map he’ll be right in this for mine.

IMAGING has had a little freshen since a poor couple of runs in the autumn, but is much better than that. He was good three back at Caulfield. Has an issue from the gate, will have to go back to last, but has JMac on and has the ability.

KEMENTARI is probably going to go around a bit of overs. He has really found form now back in racing. He was good in the All Aged last start and though he’ll go back he’s drawn inside so could potentially press up a bit closer. Goes well.

TREKKING is a classy gelding who has just been fair in his two runs back so far this prep. On his older, peak form he would be very hard to beat here, but he hasn’t really shown that so far this prep and you have to take him on trust a bit if you’re going to back him.

VICTOREM has had a freshen up. He was okay last start closing it out in the Hall Mark at Randwick. He’s pretty near his top there and might need a little more, but he’s in form and has since trialled up very well.

NICCANOVA is a seven-year-old who got to his top resuming and winning here. Is drawn a little wide but in form, goes back and the prospect of an okay pace helps here. Would need a bit to go right for the 111 he did last start to be enough to win here, but he’s in form.
