melbourne cup 2020

The Melbourne Cup 2020 is here!

This year presents a very interesting puzzle for punters. We’re in unprecedented times due to COVID-19, which has had a big impact on the international horses travelling to Australia for Melbourne Cup 2020 – most notably the Japanese. A healthy contingent will travel from Europe however, meaning a high-quality field of local and international runners will launch on the first Tuesday in November.

Melbourne Cup 2020 odds displayed are from Australia’s favourite bookmaker, TopSport (odds updated 2nd November).

Charlie Fellowes’ English stayer just loves Australia. Third in the Cup 2018, second in 2019 and a heap of other impressive performances in Melbourne. His recent fourth in the Caulfield Cup showed he’s still around the mark. Could this be his year?

A superb win in the South Australian Derby put Russian Camelot on everybody’s radar. Returned with a huge run to finish second in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes and had a subsequent win in the Group 1 Underwood, before being turned over by Arcadia Queen in the Caulfield Stakes. Main target was the Cox Plate, running a strong third despite a very tricky draw.
