Members of Trev’s Bets and Melbourne Ratings scored a $2,113 Quaddie collect last week. Trev updates his quaddie numbers for members at 9:15am on Saturday taking into account the latest scratchings, weather forecast and expected track conditions.

Below are his numbers for Flemington and hopefully this week he’ll nail the quaddie for both members and newsletter readers.

Race 6 – VRC Member Brenda Nugent Handicap (1000m)

Selections: 2, 7, 10

THE INEVITABLE (2) is a four-year-old with winning ways. This is his first time down the straight and at the trip, but he’ll be getting home hard. WAGNER (7) ran well at this track and distance last start, running second to Prezado. Gets Lane on who is airborne. ASSERTIVE APPROACH (10) is unbeaten. Also his first time down the straight but he normally does everything right.

Race 7 – VRC Member Peter Cosgriff Handicap (1400m)

Selections: 5, 7, 9

ANGELIC SPIRIT (5) has had excuses past couple of starts. Maps to get the easy lead here and can bounce back. MY PENDANT (7) put in a terrific run first-up and should have natural improvement here second-up. Will be hard to beat. VOILA (9) is a run-on sprinter who goes to 1400m for the first time. Well graded if she gets the trip.

Race 8 – Aurie’s Star Handicap (1200m)

Selections: 2, 3, 4, 7, 12, 13

MALIBU STYLE (2) won well at this track and distance two starts ago, then was slowly away last start. Lane goes on in scintillating form. Solid chance. ICONOCLASM (3) has a good record fresh. First time down the straight but will run well. SESAR (4) was disappointing last start at Caulfield when heavy favourite. Overraced and never ran on. Still, he did run well first-up on a heavy track. Has had one run down the straight but was well beaten. Take on trust. MILWAUKEE (7) is up in class but has a terrific record down the straight and is drawn to go to the best part of the track. Doesn’t have the class of others here but ticks plenty of boxes ANTAH (12) resumed off an 888 day break with a terrific win, then won three of its next five. Has winning ways and is a good chance here. YOU MAKE ME SMILE (13) is a Sydney galloper down here for the first time. Best runs look to be when able to dictate in front, which he should get here. The straight course should help.

Race 9 – VRC Member Angela Kennedy Handicap (1720m)

Selections: 1, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13

DR DRILL (1) is racing in terrific form, winning two of his past three. Is weighted right up but has claims. MASTER SHUHOOD (5) ran well first-up. Given a trial since and can improve dramatically here. LAURE ME IN (8) hasn’t done much on either run back from a spell. Can improve here third-up and the stable jock goes on. ROYAL ACE (9) returned to form last start, running second at big odds. Not sure if he can repeat but has claims. BALLET MASTER (11) is in career best form. Maps to get a similar run to last week. Will be thereabouts. SATORI (12) ran well last start at his first try at this distance range. Maps well, can hold rating. HUMBOLT CURRENT (13) had not much luck first-up. Stable has a habit of these horses improving dramatically second-up.
