- Trevor Lawson delivers his full Manikato Stakes quaddie, plus runner notes
- First leg: Race 5, 8:30pm
Quaddie numbers: 2, 3, 9 — 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 — 2, 6, 9, 11 — 4, 12, 13
Race 5 – Seppelt Wines Handicap (2040m)
Selections: 2, 3, 9
GREYSFUL GLAMOUR (2) returned to somewhere near form two starts back, then went backwards last start. Well graded here. OCEANEX (3) had no luck past two starts when held up at vital stages. Zahra goes on, should roll forward from barrier, expect to be in finish. HEART OF GRACE (9) is a former overseas galloper who was sensationally backed first-up Sydney. Changed hands since and ran okay over 1500m last start. Only has to return that figure to be competitive here.
Race 6 – Sweeney Estate Agents Handicap (1200m)
Selections: 1, 4, 5, 6, 7
Hard to know what you’ll get with RUNSON (1). Follows the same prep as last year when entering this off a win at Cranbourne, before producing a massive figure. Not sure can he do that again, but has a chance at odds. INN KEEPER (4) is racing consistently. Maps well here and should return his figure. PARSIFAL (5) is racing consistently, similar numbers each run this prep. Hot jock on, but does seem slightly under odds. WILLIAM THOMAS (6) ran a fast time first-up then not suited last start at Cranbourne. Better suited here at 1200m. Negatives – will get back from barrier and best form seems to be at Caulfield. ADDICTIVE NATURE (7) resumes for new trainer here. Have rated to what it did first-up last prep.
Race 7 – Manikato Stakes Quaddie (1200m)
Selections: 2, 6, 9, 11
THE BOSTONIAN (2) is racing consistently. Looks suited here at 1200m, just needs clear running. TROPE (6) has run exceptional sectionals past two starts from a long way back. Blinkers on here first time, just needs to be in striking distance to be powering late. BIVOUAC (9) is drawn barrier 1 which means he has to get a clean start. Has the pace to hold them out. Chances might rely on when others give up and allow it to lead. Wouldn’t want to be crossed, but is the horse to beat. LOVING GABY (11) ran well first-up when big in condition. May have just had a flat run last start. Inside draw a concern, will need clear running,
Are you with Bivouac in tomorrow night’s Manikato Stakes at @TheValley? It’s been almost four weeks since his Golden Rose win so here’s a little reminder of what he’s capable of… #ThrowbackThursday pic.twitter.com/V2CRRvBzTR

Race 8 – Crown Resorts Handicap (1500m)
Selections: 4, 12, 13
CUBA (4) led and ran well two starts back. Last start was unable to cross and had to do too much work. Maps to find front and goes from 3kg claiming apprentice to Nash. All looks positive. STAROUZ (12) is racing well, but went a bit too slow in front last start. Maps to get good run here, senior jock goes on and can run to new figure. IN HEART’S WAKE (13) put in a terrific performance last start in fast time. Just needs to hold rating to be hard to beat. Wide barrier a concern but still hard to beat.
