Race 6 – Chandler MacLeod Handicap (2500m)

Selections: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7

THE STATESMAN (1) is fourth-up here. Second run at this distance range and should be ready to run to best. SOCIAL ELEMENT (2) started this prep as a hurdler. Has run well in open grade past two starts interstate. Will get a good run on the pace. BLING DYNASTY (3) worked home nicely over a shorter trip. Had good grounding for this distance and is well-graded here. MIRIMAR (4) is racing well and should be able to hold condition here. MORE THAN EVER (6) has won past two starts. Was strong to the line in a slowly run race last start but ran good sectionals. Maps well here. SAN REMO (7) has been thereabouts in better graded races recently. Should enjoy the drop in class.

Race 7 – Dynamic Print Group Handicap (2040m)

Selections: 4, 7, 8, 9, 10

MASCULINO (4) is racing well over past few starts. Ran well here in the past and gets senior jock on. BEDFORD (7) is racing well, winning past two. Slight unknown at the Valley and will get back. INVERLOCH (8) ran well last start when left alone in front. Will roll forward here and gets a nice weight relief. DYLAN’S ROMANCE (9) comes down from Sydney and has been racing well. Chances would be enhanced with rain. TWILIGHT RUN (10) hit the line well last start over the shorter trip. Looks a progressive type but is quickly to 2040m here.

Race 8 – Four’n’Twenty Handicap (1200m)

Selections: 4, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13

ARROW LANE (4) has won past two starts in Adelaide and can run well here. ROX THE CASTLE (7) has won two from two here at this distance and runs well fresh. Should be ready to go. COLUMBIA (8) has had two runs back from a spell on a heavy track and ran well both times. Stable has winning ways. TAVISAN (9) ran nicely first-up when friendless in betting. Has ran well here over this distance before. USAIN BOWLER (11) wasn’t suited when resuming over a shorter trip. Better suited at this distance and gets senior jock on. AGE OF CHIVALRY (13) raced terrifically in the Autumn. Resumes here and will be hard to hold out.

Race 9 – Woodside Park Stallion Parade 17th Aug Handicap (1000m)

Selections: 4, 5, 6, 7, 15

EXCELTARA (4) resumes here. Drawn out but if able to run on will be hitting the line hard. MOOR WANTED (5) has been racing well down the straight recently and has also run well here in the past. Maps well. NON PAEAR (6) put in solid effort last start on the synthetic and has run well here in the past. Ideally suited this distance. CONDOR HEROES (7) produced a big figure two preps back, then was disappointing in both runs last prep when well in the market. Has trialled super leading into this, wouldn’t surprise if improved dramatically. FREEZE OVER (15) resumes here. Raced well at track and distance before. Drawn out, which may be a slight advantage this late in the day.
