Race 1 – KEENELAND GIMCRACK STAKES (1000m)

1st JORDA – James McDonald

2nd KANGA’S EYE – Kerrin McEvoy

3rd LUCKY LOUIE – Glyn Schofield

Didn’t Mention It won the start from Chain of Fools, with Madame Moustache parked in third and favourite Jorda just outside it.  Mystic Empire was next from Lucky Louie, then Grasslands, Greater Good, and Kanga’s Eye, who missed the start badly.

Reasonably tight bunch and decent speed around the turn, the favourite beautifully placed to just step out and go at the two leaders. She dashed clear with ease, as Madame Moustache crashed through inside and took out Didn’t Mention It with a heavy hit.  Kanga Eyes and Lucky Louie finished well but it was already won.

Watch: Kanga Eyes

Race 2 – NEWGATE BREEDERS’ PLATE (1000m)

1st KHAN – Blake Shinn

2nd CONDOR HEROES – Tim Clark

3rd BOWERMAN – Kerrin McEvoy

Condor Heroes and Piracy flew the start to get forward and lead, Spencer pushed through to third from Misty Lad and Bowerman.  Khan was next then Opulentus, Invader and The Mission with Thy Kingdom Come right off the track, and Medal Kun trailing them.

Hitting the straight Condor Heroes broke well clear and opened up a few lengths, looking a winner, until Khan peeled out from back and romped home over the last 200 metres, winning in eye-catching fashion.

Watch: Khan

Race 3 – APN OUTDOOR CRAVEN PLATE (2000m)

1st IT’S SOMEWHAT – James McDonald

2nd SPIRITJIM – Hugh Bowman

3rd PINSTRIPE LANE – Blake Shinn

Just the four runners here, Slow Pace rolling forward to lead from favourite It’s Somewhat, Spiritjim and then Pinstripe Lane.  A fairly relaxed pace set with It’s Somewhat and Spiritjim wider for the journey.  It’s Somewhat was moved up and headed them approaching the turn, Bowman doing the same on Spiritjim wider again.  McDonald got across and stuck to the rail in the straight, moving ahead as Bowman tried to get Spiritjim moving, but it was in vain as the favourite skated away to take it with ease.

Watch: It’s Somewhat.

Race 4 – TAB DULCIFY QUALITY (1600m)

1st MOQUEEN – Jason Collett

2nd NEWRUD – Tim Clark

3rd EARTH – Hugh Bowman

Nobody seemed to really want the early lead with Hessdalen taking it almost by default, Octavian Augustus second on the fence, Calabasas third and Our Belisa fourth and wide.  Nemrud and Earth were next, then a gap to Hand It In and Moqueen at the back.

They really kept the speed off for much of it, not punching into the wind.  Calabasas and Our Belisa were just outside with Earth peeling right out into the turn, and Collett taking Moqueen even further out for a run in the straight.  Octavian Augustus and Hand It In tried it back up the inside, but it Moqueen widest running the best race and outpointing them all in the straight, Nemrud running on well.

Watch: Moqueen, Nemrud.

Race 5 – THE STAR ROMAN CONSUL (1200m)

1st RUSSIAN REVOLUTION – Kerrin McEvoy

2nd ASTERN – James McDonald

3rd CAPITALIST – Blake Shinn

Russian Revolution punched out and led from Mount Panorama, then Capitalist, Nikitas with Flash Fibian outside, and raging favourite Astern settled at the back.  They kept a fairly tight bunch, Astern cornering last and widest, and he shook off the backmarkers before drawing level with Capitalist, who gave more resistance.  The pair of them rushed at Russian Revolution, who just held on for a gutsy win from a very fast finishing Astern who just left it too late.

Watch: Russian Revolution, Astern.

Race 6 – SYDNEY AIRPORT FLIGHT STAKES (1600m)

1st GLOBAL GLAMOUR – Tim Clark

2nd YANKEE ROSE – Blake Shinn

3rd SEZANNE – James McDonald

Clark wanted the lead and booted Global Glamour forward to take it from Bridle Lane, with Skylight Glow in third and Awoke in fourth, and favourite Yankee Rose and Sezanne going back.  They bunch somewhat into the side but there was little change to the order, until the turn where Awoke and Yankee Rose were taken wide.  The leader stuck to the rail and went for home as they peeled out into a line behind him, Shinn finally letting go of Yankee Rose for the run to the line.  Solid finishes from the favourite and Sezanne, but Global Glamour was just able to hold them off for the win.

Watch: Yankee Rose, Sezanne.

Race 7 – TAB EPSOM HANDICAP (1600m)

1st HAURAKI – James McDonald

2nd DIBAYANI – Damian Lane

3rd MACKINTOSH – Tommy Berry

Fabrizio went forward and led from Sons of John moving up wide, and Le Romian and Mackintosh back on the fence.  Dibayani was next and Mighty Lucky caught deep, then Happy Clapper, McCreery, Palentino awkwardly placed, Torgersen, Vanbrugh, Heavens Above and Hauraki last.

Victoire really kept the foot down on Fabrizio and opened up a huge lead, hitting the straight six lengths clear, with Le Romain first of the pursuers.  Mackintosh and Dibayani were also well placed and closing fast, and it was Vanbrugh and Hauraki coming very hard wider still.  Fabrizio stopped dead and left behind as the rest hit the line hard, Hauraki just edging it with a huge finish.

Watch: Hauraki, Vanbrugh, Heavens Above, McCreery.

Race 8 – MCGRATH ESTATE AGENTS METROPOLITAN (2400m)

1st SIR JOHN HAWKWOOD – Blake Spriggs

2nd ANTONIO GUISEPPE – Glen Boss

3rd ALLERGIC – Michael Dee (a)

Storm the Stars took the early lead from Dee I Cee, with Sir John Hawkwood third and Grand Marshall third inside of favourite Antonio Guiseppe.  Allergic was next from Sense of Occasion, Magic Hurricane, Who Shot Thebarman, Junoob, Sacred Master, Amexed and Quartermaster.

Very orderly going for the journey with little movement, Avdulla upping the tempo on the leader as they made their way down the side.  He’d done his dash as soon as they entered the straight however, Sir John Hawkwood cruising past.  A beautifully timed run by Spriggs held them off, Antonio Guiseppe, Allergic and Sacred Master hitting the line very well.

Watch: Antonio Giuseppe, Allergic, Sacred Master.

Race 9 – SANTOS COFFEE PREMIERE STAKES (1200m)

1st TAKEDOWN – Blake Shinn

2nd OUR BOY MALACHI – Christian Reith

3rd DANISH TWIST – James McDonald

A bit of speed early with Howmuchdoyouloveme going forward with Smart Volatility, then Takedown and Our Boy Malachi.  Southern Legend was caught outside of Good Project and Kaepernick, then Boss Lane, Danish Twist, Famous Seamus, English, Amovatio and Rebel Dane.

Pretty tight bunch into the straight, the leader coming off the fence which let takedown through the inside, whilst Our Boy Malachi was going best of the rest.  Danish Twist got up the inside in turn to force a three way photo, Takedown in the centre just getting it.

Watch: none.

Horses to follow: Khan, Global Glamour, Hauraki
