Race 1 – #THERACES HANDICAP (1400m)

1st Invincibella – Jason Collett
2nd Man From Uncle – Bobby El’lssa
3rd Miss Ballantine – Rory Hutchings

Miss Ballantine drove up from its inside gate to hold the lead from Chapelco on its outside, who was pulling hard in the run. They settled 3 lengths ahead of Walk Right In, Invincibella & Man From Uncle, who brought up the tail in the small field some 5 lengths off the leading duo.

On the swing for home the leaders steered to the middle of the straight with both Invincibella and Man From Uncle ducking back to the fence. Invincibella sprinted quickly to put tree lengths on the small field to record a soft victory. Man From Uncle made steady ground up the running without ever threatening the winner.

Race 2 – TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP (1000m)

1st Fifteen Sunflowers – Jason Collett
2nd Lunar Duchess – Jay Ford
3rd Bulls ‘N’ Bears – Matthew McGillivray (a)

Aussie James and Cheeky held the lead with Fifteen Sunflowers and Lunar Duchess a length behind. It was then a length back to Bulls ‘N’ Bears then a further two lengths to Lighthouse, You’re Kidding Me, and Angus Rock was seeing the rest some eight lengths from the lead.

Turning for the run in, Lunar Duchess attempted to push out under Fifteen Sunflowers, however Jason Collett was able to keep it in a pocket and kicked Fifteen Sunflowers clear in the straight which proved the winning move. Once into the clear Lunar Duchess worked home well and Bulls ‘N’ Bears hit the line steadily. The first three cleared out from the rest.

Race 3 – GEOHEX SPRINT (1000m)

1st Nieta – Joshua Parr
2nd Top Striker – Jason Collett
3rd Rose Of Man – Tommy Berry

Top Striker from its outside gate had to work early to sit outside of Brooklyn Storm, who held the fence. Isorich was a length back and Clear The Beach was sitting three wide with Rose Of Man its inside. It was then a length to Nieta, Petrossian and Invitations, and Eminent Duke was last about eight lengths off the lead.

Heading for home the leaders again steered to the middle of the track with Top Striker shaking off Brooklyn Storm and hitting the front. However Nieta after its soft run charged down the middle of the track to reign in the leader and record a victory. Rose Of Man ducked back to the fence to run into third without ever looking the winner.

Race 4 – TAB REWARDS HANDICAP (1200m)

1st Reincarnate – Tim Clark
2nd Sir Plush – Jason Collett
3rd Onerous – Rory Hutchings

Reincarnate found a fairly soft lead from Kings Officer with Sir Plush the leaders back. Suspense was a length behind with the grey Onerous its inside and Strindberg bringing up the rear.

Reincarnate gave a strong kick at the top of the straight after its soft run with Sir Plush peeling off its back to give chase. Sir Plush tried hard but was no match for Reincarnate who held him off to record a comfortable victory. Onerous ran into third but nothing was going to look a winning chance given the run Reincarnate had.

Race 5 – FILANTE HANDICAP (1400m)

1st Rock Forthe Ladies – Tim Clark
2nd Religify – Tommy Berry
3rd Destiny’s Kiss – Jason Collett

Religify had to work a little to find the front from Mr Gustavo. Luna Rise was a length back with Red Excitement its inside and pulling hard in the run. Rock Forthe Ladies was a further length behind with Magicool and Destiny’s Kiss seeing them all about eight lengths from the lead.

In the run to the wire Religify fought off Mr Gustavo and hit the front, this was short lived as Rock Forthe Ladies unleashed a quick sprint down the centre of the track to look the winner. Religify kicked again when headed but Rock Forthe Ladies was a bit too good with the softer run in transit. Destiny’s Kiss hit the line hard late and looks set for a winning preparation.

Race 6 – IGA LIQUOR HANDICAP (2000m)

1st My Giuliano – Joshua Parr
2nd Hipparchus – Rory Hutchings
3rd Encosta Line – Tommy Berry

Soviet Courage found the lead comfortably in the Chris Waller Invitational with 5 of the 6 runners. Encosta Line was a length back, My Giuliano was behind him on the fence with Hipparchus its outside. Diamond Made and Vassal brought up the rear.

Turning for home and a line of four at the top straight was formed with My Guiliano sprinting best after ducking back to the fence. Hipparchus was running on stoutly, but being quite a handful for the rider as it was laying in. My Guiliano held off the difficult Hipparchus to record a victory. Nothing else made much headway in the straight

Race 7 – ALCONEX FIRE HANDICAP (1400m)

1st Daysee Doom – Andrew Adkins (a)
2nd Countess Marinov – Deanne Panya (a)
3rd Circular – Nick Heywood (a)

Countess Marinov flew the gates to land in front with Sort After working across to sit outside the leader. Daysee Doom was behind them with Heavenly Anna its inside. No Push Over and Circular were a further length behind. Lani Girl travelled three wide with Tremezzina bringing up the rear about 7 lengths off the lead.

Heading for home Countess Marinov and Sort After kicked clear half way down the straight with Daysee Doom and Circular weaving between runners giving chase. Daysee Doom hauled in the leaders to record a strong victory over a brave Countess Marinov and Circular hitting the line well into third

Race 8 – CAPITAL BLUESTONE HANDICAP (1600m)

1st More To Gain – Peter Wells
2nd Balmain Boy – Tim Clark
3rd Happy Hannah – Joshua Parr

O’Reillys Revenge and Mr Steel took up the front, however that was short lived as Dance Of Heroes, caught wide, whipped around to hit the lead and ensure a good pace. Balmain Boy settled just off the hot speed. Mutlifacets was caught wide around Eschiele and Shalmaneser. Falkenberg settled well back after an awkward start with Happy Hannah seeing them all in a well strung out field.

Turning for home the swoopers had to run on, Balmain Boy caught the leader at the 200m mark with More To Gain weaving a passage through runners. Falkenberg running on hard and Happy Hannah charging out very wide down the straight. More to Gain reigned in Balmain Boy at the 100m mark to record victory over Balmain Boy and the flying Happy Hannah.

Race 8 – SCHWEPPES HANDICAP (1400m)

1st Muraqaba – Jason Collett
2nd Choice We Had – Tim Clark
3rd Man Of Choice – Joshua Parr

Mon Pere found the lead from Nat King Cu with Muraqaba a length back, trapped a touch wide, with Wine ‘N’ Dine its inside and Choice We Had holding the fence. Both Dinghu Mountain and Man of Choice were back and wide in tricky positions with Alfred The Great bring up the rear about eight lengths off the lead. Pace was slow.

Heading for home it was always going to be difficult for the backmarkers, Mon Pere kicked at the top of the straight with Choice We Had, Muraqaba and Man Of Choice looming as the main challengers. Dinghu Mountain and All But Gone working to the line steadily without looking threatening. At the 150 metre mark the challengers caught the leader and formed a line of three in a thrilling finish with Muraqaba getting the bob in from Choice We Had.
