Race reviews: Runners to watch: Rosehill, November 11th

Race 1 – #Theraces Handicap (1100m)

Note – Dynamited took out the first sitting outside the leader in the run and proving to strong over the last 100m over Secret Lady who was good in second leading them up until the final 100m. These two beat third by almost 3 lengths who was Rheingau in solid effort that was looking in trouble down the straight to miss the placings however rallied well in the final 200m. I thought it was a good effort. Going forward I wouldn’t be looking to far back than the first three across the line at this stage as the time was only fair

Race 2 – Schweppes Handicap (1500m)

Note – Unforgotten saluted at the very short quote in very impressive victory. Sitting well back and the widest runner on turning he quickened to well to win very comfortably and in very good time. Better wins in stall for him keep following. Cajetan lead them up and ran quite well holding onto second. The winner is just a class above. Destiny’s Own was a solid effort running on from third after rising from maiden class. Keep following the winner!

Race 3 – Handicap (2400m)

Note – Vassal saluted in this event in a very tight three way finish, sitting just behind the pace and peeling to the middle of the track he scored over Lycurgus who ran well sitting on the speed and kicking strongly was just unable to hold off the winner. Great Glen was solid in third leading them up into the straight and just being collared in the final 100m. Race Favourite Karavali offered very little in the run and maybe be found it a bit too far. Going forward just a standard bunch of stayers in a tight finish not getting to excited

Race 4 – Sydney Spring Carnival (1000m)

Note – Bon Amis made it 4 from 4 and was heavily backed ($1.55 – $1.30) in saluting. Jumping well he took up the front controlled the speed and kicked strongly to win in good style. Keep following him. Blowing Kisses was a good run in running second, sitting well back in the field peeled to middle of the track and let down like a coming winner. Magicaz  box seated in the run and held onto third in what was a solid effort. Stick with first and second going forward.

Race 5 – Hyland Race Colours Handicap (1800m)

Note  – Intueri got the job done in this event. Sitting behind the leader in the run he peeled out and kicked strongly after being challenged in the straight. Miss Dubois ran second and was every chance in the run for mine. Mortar Platoon was a touch unlucky in straight being held up for a few strides and could of finished abit closer doubt would of won. Be Like Dad was the run of the race. Reared and miss the kick by two lengths and was set alight before the turn and loomed up to the leaders however faded out to run a close fourth. Good effort for a weaker event. A lot of these runners are hard to catch so not a lot of confidence going forward

Race 6 – TAB Highway Handicap (1400m)

Note – They went along in this event and were strung out over some 15 lengths. Tiger By The Tale enjoyed a nice run behind the leader and didn’t have to go around a horse to score in good style. Roseito ran on well to come second after sitting midfield and peeling to the middle of the straight and let down well. Keep with her this preparation. Highway Sixtysix finished third after setting a very strong early speed and held on well and can also be followed. Going forward I think we can be with both second and third with confidence. Equal favourite Isla Tristana was sound running on late. Just got to far back in the run. Wouldn’t right her off on that run.

Race 7 – Australian Turf Club Handicap (1500m)

Note – Very good victory in this event to Just Dreaming sitting behind the leader she was blocked for a run then switched off heels and quickened impressively to win comfortably in the end. Keep following her. Dagny was second and sat outside the leader. Was a good effort however every chance. O’Reilly’s Revenge ran third and was another who was every chance after having a very good run in transit. Favourite Stonebrook lead and was disappointing after Dagny held on quite good for second. Going forward stick with the winner she was very good today

Race 8 – ATC Membership Now Open Sprint Handicap (1200m)

Note – Machinegun Jubs had a very good behind the leader and got the split at the top of the straight and quickened well enough to just get over  Zonk in second who lead them up and was nailed right on the finishing line. In Times Of War ran her usual honest race in running third however was every chance for mine. Two of the better unplaced runners were Vienna Romance who missed the kick and ran on very well to just miss the placings and Magic Alibi who was trapped very wide throughout and stuck to the task well. Vigilance got a long way back in the run and worked ok to the line wouldn’t right off just yet.

Race 9 – Show Some Betiquette Handicap (1300m)

Note – Good win from Redouble in the last sitting just behind the speed and quickened well to wear down the leader in the final 100m to score. Dreamforce was second and the run of the race after leading and being pestered by other runners. Was well tried and almost got the cash. Looks set for a good preparation. Keep following. Barthelona was third with a rails hugging ride in a solid performance.  Going forward winner was good, second was very good.
