Race reviews: Rosehill, November 18th

Race 1 – ATC Owners Benefit Card Handicap (1200m)

Note – Strong win to Pretty Fast to kick off the day sitting outside the leader she quickened well and wore down the race leader and the well backed Easy Eddie in the final 200m. Both first and second were good runs as the time of the race was quick. Heliosphere ran on very well from the tail. Last on turning and hit the line hard in a slashing first up effort. Sparky Lad was every chance for mine. Going forward work around the placegetters as they were all strong efforts.

Race 2 – Chandon S Handicap (1400m)

Note – Sedanzer  saluted after sitting midfield in the run and peel out to the middle on the track and let down well in a very good first up effort. Keep following her. Slow Burn looked the winner at the 200m however just got nabbed late in another very solid performance. They put a gap into third who was Rosa Carolina who for mine was solid however every chance.  Of the rest thought the run of Savvan was good getting along way and working to the line well. Going forward stick with the winner looks to have come back in good order.

Race 3 – Boohoo.com Handicap (2000m)

Note – No mucking around here with Lead Choreographer going like last week’s pays in front setting up a huge break midway through the race which set it up for horses to run on. Lord Kingsley ran on best after getting well back in the run to nab Imperial Aviator right on the line. It was a similar story for Carzoff getting well back in the run and hitting the line hard. Impavido was a strong effort in 4th after being caught chasing the hot speed and did a good job to finish only 2 lengths from the winner. Forget Lead Choreographer went around after setting a very hot pace. Going forward stick with Impavido in what was a good effort.

Race 4 – TAB Highway Handicap (1100m)

Note – Nice ride and win from Equal Balance sitting midfield one off the fence and peeling out to the middle to win in good style. Star Aspiration sat outside the leader and race favourite and kicked on strongly to hold second. Fitter for that effort and ran some good races last preparation. I would follow her wherever she bobs up next. The favourite She Knows was just fair running third and was every chance for mine.  Of the rest nothing made much of an impression I would be sticking with first and second wherever they race next around the state

Race 5 – November  Handicap (1400m)

Note  – The betting suggested it was a race in two and it finished that way with Cabeza De Vaca handed a soft lead and kicking strongly in the straight to make it 5 in a row with an all the way victory. Firsthand ran on well after sitting midfield and in the straight took off many lengths to the winner. Federal ran on soundly to finish third however never looked a winning chance. Nothing outside the first two really did anything. Going forward stick with the winner impossible to knock her winning form and second was sound chasing hard the whole way down the straight. Betting suggested they were the only two winning chances and the ran panned out that way.

Race 6 – November Topaz (1900m)

Note – Small field faced the starter and the red hot favourite Interlocuter got the job done in workman like fashion sitting midfield and proving to strong down the straight over Black On Gold who ran well on pace and continues to hold form just found the winner to good today. Embley was third and lead them up and held on soundly for third. The other two in the event offered little. Going forward the winner was solid and might even be looking for further than today’s distance.  Second and third good runs for something a bit easier.

Race 7 – Jaydub Electrical (1200m)

Note – Best Guess lead and controlled the speed up front then kicked strongly to record a strong and dominate to justify his short price in betting. Star Reflection was second and had a good run behind the speed however couldn’t quicken good enough to reel in the winner. Pipeline was good first up running on. Was always in a tricky position due to the lack of early speed however was good late. Going forward the winner was handed the race on a plate and should of got the job done. I would be looking at backing Pipeline if the race suits next start.

Race 8 – #THERACES  Handicap (1400m)

Note – Big win from Redouble sitting three wide the trip and sprinting well in the straight to record an excellent win. Flow was second and sat just outside the leader and fought on well. These two put a big gap into third and both should be followed. Cosmic Engine was sound to the line holding third however was every chance. Of the rest So Spirited was sound on pace running fourth and good for something easier. Going forward I would be sticking with the first two as they were both very good and clearly better than that field today.

Race 9 – Boxing Day @ Randwick Handicap (1100m)

Note – Glenall won the last in a tight finish. Sitting just behind the speed he pulled out to overhaul  the leaders and fend off the late charge of Tactical Advantage in second who was 3 back the fence on turning and looked the winner once the gaps appeared. Both first and second in this have above average ability and are both worth following from now. Ziggy Willie was third and ran on well from well back, looks to be hitting form and should be at peak fitness now. The well tried Tango Rain lead them up however faded in the final 100m to miss the placings. Pomelo was just fair today after getting a good run behind the speed. Going forward stick with first and second they will be in the money again soon!
