Runners to watch: Rosehill, November 25th

Shane Adair race reviews, blackbookers and race notes from Saturday's Sydney metro meeting at Rosehill.

Race reviews: Rosehill, November 25th

Race 1 – Golden Gift Handicap (1100m)

Note – Secret Lady took out the first leading from barrier to box in good style. Hot pot ($1.35) Plague Stone was second and pulled hard and raced wide in the run. I wouldn’t be writing him off on that effort. Orcein ran on well late to finish third at big odds and also will be better for that effort.  Those three cleared out from the rest of the pack. Going forward the winner is a nice 2yo. Plague Stone will be better for that effort and weight of money in betting says he goes very good.

Race 2 – The HQ of Insurance Handicap (1400m)

Note – Tight finish with 7 of the 9 runners finishing within two lengths of each other. Bull Market saluted at double figure odds after sitting midfield and peeling to the middle of the straight to narrowly score over Poetic Charmer who was given the run of the race in finishing second. Star Sensation was third and the run of the race after being trapped wide rolled forward and held on well to third. Maid Marilyn went probably a touch to hard in front however she offered very little and was disappointing. Going forward not overly keen on many with the very tight finish however Star Sensation would be the best of them.

Race 3 – Luna Park Handicap (1800m)

Note – Dagny from last scored continuing his very consistent preparation. Sitting last in the run he peeled to the middle and unleashed a very strong finish to win in good style. Gambler’s Blues recorded yet another second however was every chance to win for mine. Zahspeed finished third and ran well after setting a strong early speed, he did put a good gap between him and fourth. Race favourite Mornington was just fair in running fourth, did look to have every chance. Going forward it was a case of the usual suspects however I would be sticking with Zahspeed back in QLD, todays run was good enough to score when he goes back home

Race 4 – Bedford CA Handicap (1200m)

Note – Blow out for punters here with $41 chance Positive Problems saluting leading from start to finish in a strong performance.  Miss Ballantine was second also at $41, sitting midfield on the fence she worked to line well in what was a good first up performance. Overstep was specked in betting and ran on well after racing wide and turning very wide into the straight. Anatola was every chance in fourth and Zonk had a soft run behind the leader and offered little in the straight. Blowing Kisses can be put down as a forgive effort after racing wide. Going forward I won’t be getting too excited about many out of this event. Zonk only wins when leading or sitting outside the leader and Im happy to forgive Blowing Kisses.

Race 5 – TAB Highway  Handicap (1500m)

Note  – Schedule saluted after having a good run in transit outside of the leader to score quite comfortably in the end over the very well tried Athonis who lead them up however was no match for the winner in the straight. Realing in third got to a touch worse than midfield however did find the line well. Gitan was every chance in running fourth. These fourth did put abit of gap between them and the rest. Going forward another Schedule always needs respecting in these races and continues to race well. I would be sticking with Realing from top yard and second up effort was good.

Race 6 – Thoroughbred Breeders NSW Handicap (1400m)

Note –  Another boilover for punters with Invinzabeel getting the job done at $26 after getting a nice run in transit he wore down race favourite Just Dreaming in second who sat outside the leader and fought on well in the straight and was just nailed right on the line. Time To Torque was third and ran on soundly however was every chance for mine. Race favourite Zumbelina was well back and wide and I would be willing to forgive that effort.  I liked the run of Morton’s Fork in fourth struck trouble in the straight however hit the line well. Was only first up and looks to have come back well. I would be following him.

Race 7 – The Country Classic  (2000m)

Note – Miss Dubois scored in good style after a perfect ride from McEvoy. She was able to slot one off the fence and touch worse than midfield and power to the line to score in good style. Second was Wildflower at big odds who had a nice rails run behind the leaders and was every possible chance. D’Beak ran a really good race a $31 setting a strong pace leading held on very well to finish third. Of the beaten brigade Zamex ran on soundly to the line however never looked a winning chance. Both Allzin & Bronzed Venom both didn’t offer a lot in the straight. Going forward the winner was a class above

Race 8 – Goldners Horse Transport  Handicap (1100m)

Note –The big priced winners continued with $20 chance Don’t Tease Me scored after flying the gates and setting up a big break on turning and just held on over Bon Amis who sat three wide and chased hard in the straight to narrowly go down. Test The World was solid first up working to the line and will be better for the effort. In Times Of War & Secret Trail settled a touch worse than midfield and another who was sound to the line. Going forward the winner was just too good today after an aggressive ride from Rachel Hunt. Don’t write off Bon Amis was another good effort to my eye.

Race 9 – ANZ Bloodstock News Handicap (1500m)

Note – One act affair in the last with Dreamforce jumping well to find a soft lead and kicked strongly to score very comfortably. Last 600m and overall time both very good. Our Belisa sat second and stayed second and tried hard in the straight but was just no match. The same could be said for Istria who sat behind the speed and could make no impression on the winner. Going forward Dreamforce has come back very well. Found an easy lead however times were still very good. I would stick with him
