Runners to watch: Rosehill, November 4th

Shane Adair race reviews, blackbookers and race notes from Saturday's Sydney metro meeting at Rosehill.

Race reviews: Rosehill, November 4th

Race 1 – Lack Group – West Tradies Plate (1100m)

Note – Raced Favourite Neutrality jumped well and crossed to the lead and never looked like losing kicking away strongly on the turn to win easy over Stunts who was last and ran on well to finish second. They finished 8 lengths ahead of third who was Tactical Information. Going forward the winner goes good and second wants futher. We will need to see the rest again

Race 2 – CFMEU Mining Handicap (1300m)

Note – Unforgotten won well drifting well back in the run she was hooked out to the middle of the straight and ran on powerfully to overhaul Beacon who ran well on pace after being pestered in the lead. He kicked strongly and was just over run late. Very good effort. They cleared out from third who was Marsupial who pulled to hard in the run and was eventually let go by the rider, I would just forget that effort. Rekindled Force was part of the fast early pace and knocked up the straight. Going forward very good by the first two in the race and forget third went around.

Race 3 – AMWU Handicap (1100m)

Note – Pomelo scored in good fashion sitting behind the early leader Tango Rain, peeled out from behind the leader to win by 1 length over the fast finishing Ozark who settled last and rattled home in what was a good run. Best Guess in third had a good run in transit and managed to run home soundly to finish third. Tango Rain lead them up however knocked up at the 200m in which was a disappointing effort. Pick Me Up was was well back in the field and worked to line solidly. Going forward I would be sticking with the winner of 5 from 10 and more on the way.

Race 4 – Turner Freeman Handicap (1800m)

Note – Black On Gold scored with a rails hugging ride from back in the field, in which was a solid effort however was given every possible chance to score, so I would be reluctant to take the short odds again next start. New Tipperary was second however another who was given every chance in the run. Prince Cheri was last on the turn and hooked the widest into the straight and ran on well to finish third. Good effort for something abit easier. Dark Eyes & Collateral both offered very little. Not a race to get excited over going forward

Race 5 – TAB Highway  Handicap (1200m)

Note  – Fast early pace set it up for the backmarkers in this event. O’Lordy who was well back on turning unleashed a powerful sprint to score over Realing who was last on turning and rattled home to just miss the winner. Southern Flight was third and every chance for mine. Of the beaten brigade, I would forget Equal Balance & Neyla’s Girl went around trapped very wide on a hot pace. Happy to give them both another chance. Going forward abit weary of the form of this event not a lot between them all

Race 6 – The Lidoran Group Handicap (1800m)

Note – Good win by Carzoff sitting midfield on a good pace and quickened well in the straight to hold off Lord Kingsley in a tight finish. Mornington ran really well for its first start in Australia and might be the one to follow out the event. Sitting behind the leader on a good pace stuck on well to finish third. The race favourite Victime De L’amour just went to quickly in front and is worth forgiving.  Impavido ran on solidly from the tail to just miss the placings. Going forward stick with Mornington who will be better as the races get longer.

Race 7 – Blacktown Workers Handicap (1100m)

Note – Good effort by the race favourite Slow Burn sitting forward in the run she quickened to well to win quite comfortably on the line. She is building a good record and can be continue to be followed. Anatola ran well coming second after being trapped 3 wide in the run, she will be fitter for that effort and has a good second up record.  Gwenneth was solid on pace running third however every chance for mine. In Times Of War just got a bit too far back in the run and worked to the line is good fashion. She is however worth another chance just because how consistent she is.

Race 8 – Bradford Soundscreen  Handicap (1200m)

Note – Very good win by Zumbelina who came wide before turning and sprinted well in the straight to win over Magic Alibi who had a good rails run and was every chance working to the line soundly to run second. My Country was every chance in running third having a good run just behind the speed. Grunderzeit was trapped wide throughout. Not a lot to take out of this event the winner is was too good and continues to race really well at Rosehill.

Race 9 – Bradford Solar Handicap (1200m)

Note – In a tight driving finish Wayanka got the bob in coming from well back to hit the front, however Gambler’s Blues kicked back and just missed in a very tight finish. Both first and second were good runs. Gamblestown was solid in running third after having a good rails run. I thought the run of equal favourite Siren’s Fury was good getting well back and charging late to just miss the placings. Crafty Cop raced on pace and folded up at the 200m in an average effort. I would be forgiving High Mist missed the start, trapped wide and turned very wide into the straight. Going forward 1st and 2nd will continue to race well. Siren’s Fury was good and High Mist is definitely worth another chance.
