Dark Jewel Classic (1400m): Race 6, 3:25pm AEST

I am quite keen on MISSILE MANTRA, her old Group 1 form has lured me in and the recent form line with FABRIC suggests she isn’t too far off that type of a performance. Tricky enough race though with a couple of query runners in ASIAGO and SHE SHAO FLY (who has beaten MISSILE MANTRA when had every possible chance). Question mark is the tactics on JEN RULES, I give her a good chance.

1. Missile Mantra Rated $4.8
Has ability, beat FABRIC (subsequent Group 2 win) when resuming. Been close three times in Group 1s.

2. Reelem In Ruby Rated $34
Excuses last start and is a Group 2 winner, but hasn’t come up as well this prep.

3. Irithea Rated $34
Last year’s winner (at Rosehill), but is another that isn’t going as well this prep.

4. Rocha Clock Rated $9
Decent enough win last start after wide run. Has to go back from the barrier.

5. Asiago Rated $9
Peaked when winning Mona Lisa first-up.

6. Jen Rules Rated $7.5
Question mark on tactics, two stablemates in race. Proven in grade.

7. She Shao Fly Rated $21
Every possible chance when 2nd in the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes at Caulfield. Plain NSW debut at Hawkesbury last start. Which horse turns up today?

9. Akari Rated $26
Only placed 1 of last 13 and was just fair behind JEN RULES last start after a wide run.

10. Electric Girl Rated $21
Has to prove herself this grade after not much luck in Provincial Championships Final last start. Doyle stable is flying.

12. More Prophets Rated $9
Returned in good order last start finishing with the pack behind promising LOST AND RUNNING.

13. Air To Air Rated $9
Slowly away (again) last start at Hawkesbury before running on well behind JEN RULES. Extra 100m suits.

14. Strawb Rated $21
Resumed with a good win and the 3rd-placed horse has bolted in since. Negatives are that it loses JMac and goes up in grade.

15. Margie Bee
Looks the leader but this is too tough.

16. Bright Rubick
Both runs fair since resuming – this is too tough.

17. Holy Empress
Reckon they’re kidding themselves in this grade.

Scone Cup (1600m): Race 7, 4:05pm AEST

$9 top-raters tells the tale! ORDER AGAIN, ROYAL CELEBRATION, PHAISTOS are the three I have tried to find but I can’t make them value runners without cheating… I’ll need to be “creative” to justify having a bet in this lottery.

1. Purple Sector Rated $21
Not much luck behind ROYAL CELEBRATION last start when beaten 3L. Really mixes his form.

3. Order Again Rated $9
Dominant win first-up last prep on a questionable track.

4. Phaistos Rated Rated $9
Good run resuming alongside ROYAL CELEBRATION/LAURE ME IN. Unlucky not to win this race last year and did win here in 2019.

5. Royal Celebration Rated $9
All three runs this prep have merit/excuses.

6. Bottega Rated $9
Disappointing last start when did have the shortest Starting Price against 5 of these. Overlook the run?

9. Laure Me In Rated $9
Returned in good order when running on strongly behind ROYAL CELEBRATION. Consistent. Suited this distance.

10. Looks Like Elvis Rated $15
Excuses last start behind ROYAL CELEBRATION. Only placed 1 of last 10.

11. Berdibek Rated $15
Both of his last two first-up runs have been good. As much tempo here?

12. Toryjoy Rated $15
Solid run when resuming. Drop in weight and likely fitter here are positives. Looks to be some pressure here.

14. Pandano Rated $9
Decent effort in Champinships Final as favourite who chased a fast pace.

15. Mr Dependable Rated $17
Has been very well suited last two starts and there’s more pressure here back to the mile.

16. Two Big Fari Rated $21
Decent effort last start and carried 64.5kg when resumed. First run at the mile is a question mark. Has to prove himself in this grade from outside barrier.
