Rosehill racecourse, the galaxy, vinery stud stakes

The Galaxy is a Group 1 sprint handicap over 1,100 metres, held at Rosehill Racecourse in autumn. Total prizemoney is $700,000. The race is held on Golden Slipper Day, along with four other Group 1 races.

TAILLEUR will be hard to beat. She’s racing very consistently and was good winning on a Soft 7 last start. She handles wetter than that, too. She gets the drop on the pace here and will be very hard to hold out.

HAUT BRION HER will go well. She resumes off two good trial wins and went out to a spell really well here over 1300m. That was Heavy 9 and she went to a new top there. So she obviously handles it!

EDUARDO hit a new career peak to withstand the assault of Nature Strip in the Challenge Stakes. The query is if he can hold it. But he does go very well on wet as well as dry, and 1100m is no problem.

FABERGINO get her first look at a genuinely wet track. That’s the concern but she’s super consistent and puts herself in the race every time on the pace. It’s likely be in a speed battle but she’s used to those!

DIRTY WORK was good resuming, going to his top, and that makes him some chance here. He’ll probably be back on the rail but they should be able to run on. He’ll likely just have to get off that rail at some point.

ORDER OF COMMAND is a roughie with a chance. He was good resuming here two weeks ago and handles a soft track. He’s drawn a little wide but gets a trail and can run on down the middle. He can win this.

EASY EDDIE was good last start running second at Group 3 level. This is harder but he’s in form and he has shown in the past that he handles wet tracks. Not the worst at a decent price.

WILD RULER came back well winning first-up at Randwick. He was a level off his top but will be fitter for that. His first look at a genuinely wet track is my concern with him.
