ARAMAYO is a strong chance, and I would be even keener if he’d drawn a better marble. He found his top two starts back in the Epsom at Randwick, then didn’t really fire at Flemington in teh Cantala. But back around the backwards bend I think he can bounce back and be right in this.
COUNT DE RUPEE got to a new career top last time in the PVL dream book Golden Eagle, rating 114. If he holds that he’s a huge show here, however he has gate 17, he has a rider (Brock Ryan) who doesn’t really have the big race experience like some of his rivals here, and of course he has to hold that new peak. Interesting runner.
Hopefully we’ll be on RICH HIPS as a value bet. She’s a solid galloper who closes out her races well and I think will appreciate the mile now. She rated well last start winning at Flemington, and there’s no reason to think she can’t hold that. She should enjoy winding up down the middle here.

I AM SUPERMAN is a very genuine galloper who has been good in both runs back… right near his top. And he had no luck last time out. Everything looks right for a peak here, including the map.
ATISHU is in consistent form this prep. She does need a new level to win this for me and as such I can’t come into the market price, but she’s only a four-year-old and we probably haven’t seen her top yet.
DAWN PASSAGE is a sneaky from Gai and Adrian! Backing up a week later, up in trip, I wouldn’t be surprised if they pressed on and led on this horse and tried to pinch it. He has the figures to win, up to a mile is an unknown, but Gai is very good at these things.
NUDGE is just going okay so far this prep, but we know he’s better than that. He’s fourth-up now, fitter and has a good draw. We should see improvement here.
I like what they’re doing here with BERDIBEK. They’ve given this horse two months off after being in strong form, and dropped him back from the 2100m to this mile, then trialled him well recently (winning). Bowman on a plus. Of course, given his racing pattern he’ll need a lot of luck… but he is in career best form.
