Moonee Valley Quaddie Preview

Trev is back with his Moonee Valley Quaddie tips for this Saturday.

Race 6 – Cafetto Kate O’Sullivan Mile (1600m)

#2 Akavoroun (Ciaron Maher / Liam Riordan)
Had two runs back off a long spell. Steps out in trip here, should improve again.

#4 Jacquinot Bay (Hayes & Dabernig / Fred Kersley)
Consistent type who rarely runs poorly. Will be suited here.

#6 Tarquin (James Cummings / Craig Williams)
Won well two starts ago at Flemington. Never sighted in brutally-run race over 2000m at Flemington. Back in trip here.

#7 Raw Impulse (Darren Weir / Damian Lane)
Returned to something near form last start. Should improve again here fourth-up. Gets stable-preferred jockey on.

#10 Magic Consol (Paul Preusker / Fred Kersley)
Previous two runs before last start were terrific. No luck last start, held up at vital stage. Given freshen up, good record at this track and distance.

Race 7 – Dominant Martin Ralston Cup (2040m)

#1 Lite’n In My Veins (Ciaron Maher / Liam Riordan)Racing honestly in Adelaide. Does step to trip for only second time. Has claims. #2 Pilote D’Essai (Hayes & Dabernig / Fred Kersley)Had two runs back off extremely long spell. Getting up to favoured distance now, likely improver. #5 High Church (Darren Weir / Damian Lane)Had two runs back off long spell. Gets preferred jockey on, likely improver. #6 Observational (John Sadler / Lachlan King)Comes through same race as High Church at Flemington. Brutally run race. Will get home hard here with clear running. #7 Grey Lion (Matt Cumani / Ben Melham)Not a lot of luck when resuming over this trip. Given solid freshen up since. Well graded here. #11 My Nordic Hero (Chris Waller / Michael Dee)Came through same race as High Church and Observation. Ran well, ready to peak. #14 Four By Four (Greg Eurell / Jye McNeil)Had three runs back. Ran nicely last start over slightly shorter distance, should be ready to run to best here fourth-up.

Race 8 – Dominant 60 Years Handicap (1600m)

#1 Iconoclasm (Darren Weir / Ethan Brown)Has won five of last six. Only slight negative is first time at the Valley. Definitely horse to beat. #4 Masculino (Mick Price / Liam Riordan)Had two runs back. Just slightly held up at vital stage last start. Produced peak rating at this track last Spring. Can improve here. #16 Limekilns (Michael Kent / Michael Dee)Improving type who is poorly graded here, but has improved each run. Looks to still be on the up.

Race 9 – WT Partnership Handicap (1200m)

#1 Lord Da Vinci (Scott Brunton / Lachlan King)
Resumes here. Did win first-up over this trip at similar time of year last year.

#2 Camdus (Darren Weir / Ethan Brown)
Won well first-up in Adelaide off long spell. Given three weeks to get over run, should hold rating here.

#3 Ashlor (Dan McCarthy / Fred Kersley)
Honest horse who rarely runs a bad race. Will be on the pace, has won this track and distance.

#9 Inn Keeper (Symon Wilde / Ms Linda Meech)
Unbeaten this prep. Drawn wide but that may be an advantage late in the day. Will be on the pace. Only has to hold rating.

#10 Wise Hero (John Price / Damian Lane)
Failed first up behind Inn Keeper when well in market. Gets senior jockey on and no reason can’t bounce back to near best.

Leg 1 – 2, 4, 6, 7, 10
Leg 2 – 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 11, 14
Leg 3 – 1, 4, 16
Leg 4 – 1, 2, 3, 9, 10
