Caulfield Quaddie Preview

Trev is back with his Caulfield Quaddie tips for this Saturday. There are some tricky legs, with our man going very wide in the third and fourth to give himself every chance of a collect.

Race 6 - Keno Bonus Handicap (1800m)

#6 My Nordic Hero (Chris Waller / Michael Walker)

Terrific win last start over slightly longer. Steps back slightly in distance, shouldn’t be a concern. Will sit handy from positive draw.

#11 Sixties Groove (Darren Weir / Dean Yendall)

Has had excuses both runs in Australia. Third run in here, should be ready to fire. Can improve dramatically.

#14 Hursley (Chris Waller / Craig Williams)

Has run in unsuitable races past two. Back slightly in trip, looks to get good run on map. Can bounce back.

#15 Quick Defence (Chris Waller / Craig Newitt)

Consistent horse who returns similar figures each start, which will have him in finish here.

Race 7 - Keno Replay Handicap (1400m)

#3 Usain Bowler (John Sadler / Damien Oliver)

Fought on well last start at the Valley over shorter trip. Steps to 1400m here which shouldn’t be a problem. Maps well.

#5 Eluded (Ellerton & Zahra / Craig Williams)

Ran well on heavy track at Swan Hill. Maps well here, can hold rating.

#7 Street Sheik (Patrick Payne / Nathan Punch)

Form consistent prior to last run. Was on heavy track, had excuses. Can bounce back here, well graded with claim.

#10 Smooth Landing (Hayes & Dabernig / Lachlan King)

Hasn’t had much luck over past few. Can improve dramatically with the right run.

#11 Captain Harry (Darren Weir / Dean Yendall)

Consistent colt. Didn’t have much luck last start. Looks well graded here.

Race 8 - Keno Superplay Handicap (1400m)

#2 Top Me Up (Hawkes / Zac Spain)

Getting fitter each run. Should be ready to show best here. Maps well.

#3 Malaise (James Cummings / Craig Williams)

Terrific run first-up from spell, hitting line well. Should be hard to beat from positive draw.

#8 Mr Individual (Darren Weir / Dean Yendall)

Ran well on heavy track first-up for Weir. Should be fitter here second-up.

#9 Rib Eye (Clinton McDonald / Chris Parnham)

Consistent type. Maps well here. Coming back slightly in distance.

#10 So Poysed (Richard Laming / Brian Park)

Hit line well first-up over shorter trip. Should improve off that run here. Excellent record second-up.

#12 Dane Thunder (Shane Bottomley / Craig Newitt)

Racing consistently. Should be thereabouts.

#13 My Paisann (Matthew Enright / Damien Oliver)

Raced well last prep. Had seven weeks off. Trialled up nicely leading into this.

#15 Wenner (Ken Keys / Ms Linda Meech)

Beaten only once this distance. Ran well last start. Can hold rating here.

Race 9 - Keno Jackpots Handicap (1200m)

#1 Ashlor (Dan McCarthy / Jamie Mott)

Racing well. Can hold figure here despite heavy impost.

#5 Wise Hero (John Price / Ethan Brown)

Disappointing past two runs but much better than that. Given month off and can improve dramatically here.

#6 Call Me Handsome (Peter Gelagotis / Liam Riordan)

Consistent type who ran well last prep and did run well first-up last prep.

#7 Princeton Spirit (Julius Sandhu / Beau Mertens)

Racing well. Will push forward, does have winning ways.

#10 Strike Force (Michael Moroney / Mitchell Aitken)

First-up here, had run well fresh in the past. Trialled nicely leading into this.

#12 Chatuchak (James Cummings / Craig Williams)

Ran well last start over this trip. Looks to get similar run here. Can hold rating.

#14 Kennedy (James Cummings / Dwayne Dunn)

Sydney galloper resuming here. Has raced well in past. Has been gelded since last prep.
