A pro-punter's Quaddie preview for this Saturday's meeting

Flemington Quaddie Preview

The Spring racing action continues this weekend and Trev brings you his Flemington Quaddie tips.

Race 6 - Gilgai Stakes (1200m)

Selections: 1, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

DOTHRAKI (1) returned to the winner’s circle last start at this track and distance, and maps to get a similar run here. DREAMFORCE (4) is a Sydney galloper down the straight for the first time. Has terrific figures in Sydney and a good record fresh. FIRST AMONG EQUALS (7) is racing well, was narrowly beaten last start this track and distance, and only has to maintain rating here. QUILISTA (8) pulled up with an issue last start, but the previous run was sound and she did win by a big margin at her only run at this track and distance. BONS AWAY (9) got home hard first-up from a spell. He did run well in one of only two runs at this track and distance early in his career. EDUARDO (10) put up a huge effort first-up, but is down the straight for the first time. I AM EXCITED (11) hasn’t had not much luck in either run this time in. She did run well down the straight last spring. Can go to her best here with a clear run.

Race 7 - The Bart Cummings (2500m)

Selections: 1, 6, 7, 10

AVILIUS (1) is unbeaten since landing in Australia. He’s improved every run and had an arrogant win last start. 2500 metres should suit. RISING RED (6) put in a terrific run second-up, battling away well on the speed over 2000 metres. He ran third in the New Zealand Derby as three-year-old off a similar prep. Will be forward. MIDTERM’s (7) last two runs have been good. He closed hard last start, running the quickest last 200 of day, after having to go back. Better drawn here. YOGI (10) is racing well and gets out to his favoured trip now. Can sit closer from the better draw.

Race 8 - Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m)

Selections: 2, 4, 5, 6, 15

KRONE (2) ran well at Moonee Valley and then had to cover extra ground last start. She should be solid at the mile. ARISTIA (4) had to go back from a wide barrier last start, and hit the line hard late. Looks like the trip will suit. AMPHITRITE (5) had a sound performance last start and it looks like this trip will suit better. Will be strong late. YULONG METEOR (6) was terrific last start when set a task over the slightly longer trip. Has claims here coming back in trip. VERRY ELLEEGANT (15) is former kiwi having her first start for Weir. Hard to get a definitive line on, but will include.

Race 9 - Blazer Stakes (1400m)

Selections: 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 13

GLOBAL GLAMOUR (2) was slightly disappointing first-up when caught wide over the shorter trip, but has good record over this trip and can bounce back. INVINCIBELLA (3) is racing well and is a consistent mare who’ll get home hard. BELLA MARTINI (5) ran well last start over this trip, being narrowly beaten. Can hold rating here. TULIP (6) ran well last start at this distance. Can hold rating here. SAVATIANO (9) is Sydney galloper who’s ran terrifically both runs this prep. Either of those runs would be good enough here. LA BELLA DIOSA (10) had a terrific win first-up in quick time, then was slightly disappointing last start, but may have been flat. Can rate somewhere in-between this time. PLATINUM ANGEL (13) put in a terrific run first-up over the shorter trip, charging home late with the quickest 400 and 200 of the day. Doesn’t have to get so far back here. Good record at this trip.
