Who is Trev taking this week?

Flemington Quaddie Preview

Trevor Lawson returns with his Flemington Quaddie tips. He’s going very wide around the third leg, where he is backing Penske or Silentz to do the job.

Race 6 - Macedon and Goldfields Handicap (1600m)

#1 Gaulois (James Cummings / Brad Rawiller)
Terrific win at Moonee Valley when sat four to five wide throughout. Drawn out here but can hold rating.

#2 Mr Money Bags (Robbie Griffiths / Damian Lane)
Won well last start over slightly shorter trip. Steps up in distance here but will roll forward from barrier.

#3 Groundbreak (Hawkes / Ben Thompson)
Got too far back last start from wider barrier. Better drawn here, can settle closer in run.

#4 Lady Of Crebilly (Phillip Stokes / Dwayne Dunn)
Had to go a long way back from wide barrier last start. From inside barrier can sit closer here. Likely improver.

#6 Rossman (David Brideoake / Andrew Mallyon)
Good here two starts ago over this distance. Too far back last start when back in distance. Back to better trip here and can sit closer.

#7 Buckhound (Danny O’Brien / James Winks)
Good first-up at Pakenham on synthetic, then looked to not travel well at Sandown. Back to home course, blinkers on, can bounce back.

#10 Aroha Te Mana (Ciaron Maher / Chris Parnham)
Terrific run at big odds last start over slightly shorter trio. Only one run this distance, walked in albeit in winter class. Can hold rating.

#15 Limekilns (Michael Kent / Fred Kersley)
Good win at Bendigo, then may have struggled to get around Moonee Valley. Happy to forgive, better served here on bigger track.

Race 7 - Brian Beattie Handicap (1400m)

#1 Ozi Choice (Darren Weir / Dean Yendall)
Terrific win last start over this track and distance, running exceptionally fast time. Maps to get similar run here.

#2 Chamois Road (Patrick Payne / Mitchell Aitken)
Ran well in Adelaide off short break. Good record this distance, will roll forward

#3 Morton’s Fork (James Cummings / Craig Williams)
Solid effort first-up when got well back from wide barrier. Can improve here second-up.

#12 Arkham Knight (John Macmillan / Stephen Baster)
Good win at Warrnambool during carnival then again last start in Adelaide. Has a bank of good figures, will get back but seems overs.

#13 Galaxy Raider (Grahame Begg / Damien Thornton)
Enigmatic galloper who has sound record here. Will settle back and need a bit of luck, but will get home hard.

Race 8 - David Bourke Provincial Plate (1600m)

#4 Penske (Waterhouse & Bott / Stephen Baster)
Won by solid margin last start on Kensington track. Can hold rating here. Hot trainer / jockey combo.

#9 Silentz (Darren Weir / Dean Yendall)
Had won three in a row before last start run on heavy track. Can forgive. Can bounce back here.

Race 9 - Grampians Region Handicap (1100m)

#3 Husson Eagle (Patrick Payne / Nathan Punch)
Solid record here down straight. Goes okay fresh. Has inexperienced jock but has claims.

#5 Rocket Tommy (Gwenda Johnstone / Jarrod Fry)
Terrific record down straight, ran well first-up over slightly shorter trip, no fears over 1100m..

#7 Man From Uncle (Darren Weir / Dean Yendall)
Resumes for new trainer in Weir. Hard to get line on but will run well if fancied.

#12 Divine Quality (Robbie Griffiths / Beau Mertens)
Honest mare who has good record down straight. Can run to best.

#13 Labuan Star (Darren Weir / Lachlan King)
Racing consistently. Ran well over slightly shorter last start. Better suited here over 1100, well graded with claim.

#15 You’ve Been Had (Lisa Enright / Damien Oliver)
Won first two runs this prep then got long way back from barrier last start before rattling home. First time down straight but will be getting home hard.
