Flemington Quaddie tips Trevor Lawson

Pro-punter Trevor Lawson brings you his Flemington Quaddie tips for this Saturday’s meeting.

The first and last legs are relatively skinny, with the middle two races looking much closer and tougher to predict.

Race 6 - Festive Season Sprint (1000m)

Selections: 2, 3, 5, 6, 8

TANGO RAIN (2) ran well two starts back then went too quickly in front last start, can forgive. PREZADO (3) finally won a race last start. Best record is down the straight. Can improve again. DEMOLITION (5) is a backmarker who gets home hard. Coming back to 1000m which is a slight negative. ORDER OF COMMAND (6) ran well down the straight last start. Has had a freshen-up since and can hold rating. SIR DONALD (8) ran well second-up last time down the straight. First-up here off a long break, but has trialled nicely.

Race 7 - Yuletide Handicap (1400m)

Selections: 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 16

SUPERHARD (2) is racing consistently and only has to hold rating to be competitive. HAUNTED (4) is a consistent gelding who ran terrifically last start. Has had a freshen-up but has trialled and can hold rating. NOTIO (6) raced well two starts back off a freshen-up, then had excuses last start. Has raced well this way of going in the past. LORD SUNDOWNER (8) ran well in the previous couple, then last start went too hard in front. Maps to get better run here and has raced well at this track and distance. MR MONEY BAGS (9) is fourth-up here and should be ready to run to best. Has improved rating each start. FLYING KRUPT (13) has won past two in Adelaide. Ratings look to be competitive for this. KAZIO (16) ran well first-up then a good effort last start. This is best distance range.

Race 8 - Summer On The Lawn Handicap (2000m)

Selections: 1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12

TOP PROSPECT (1) ran well during Cup week, and then was sensationally backed last start before pulling up with heat stress. Can bounce off previous run. TOP OF THE RANGE (3) got too far back last start. Previous run was okay and looks to be looking for trip. LAMBORGHINI (7) gave the leader and winner too big a start last time before closing late. Better suited here at to 2000 metres. FRIEDENSBERG (8) led and won in a walk last start. Looks ready for 2000m. SAVAHEAT (9) has been building nicely. Fifth-up here and first run at 2000m, should be ready to peak. CREEDENCE (11) was extremely wayward over the last 50m at first run this distance for this prep. Senior rider goes on and can bounce off that rating. NOTHIN’ LIKE HARRY (12) is a bit of an unknown. Has Albury form but did run well in Sydney highway when had excuses. Keep safe.

Race 9 - Merry Christmas VRC Members Handicap (1200m)

Selections: 9, 12, 15, 17

BEACON (9) has had a freshen-up. Was well-fancied in Cup week when had no luck. Has trialled nicely. MASTERING (12) returned a gelding last start for new trainer and produced a huge figure. Only has to hold here to be extremely competitive. ROX THE CASTLE (15) is a consistent gelding who has run well in all four Australian starts. Will be competitive here. USAIN BOWLER (17) ran well first-up. First try down the straight but has solid claims on ratings.
