Pro-punter Trevor Lawson brings you his Moonee Valley Quaddie tips for Friday night. He has zoned in on the middle legs, going skinny in an attempt to boost the return.
Race 5 – 55 Second Challenge Heat 7 (955m)
Selections: 1, 4, 8, 9, 10
REWARD WITH RETURN (1) ran well last start. Has a good record at this trip and maps well. MCGARRETT (4) ran in strong races early last prep. Looks to go best fresh and has trialled well leading into this. MISSANDEI (8) is an honest mare who races on speed and looks to get a good run here RAY’S DREAM (9) resumes here. Good record fresh and at this trip. Maps well. SWIZZLE STICKS (10) was an impressive winner first-up in first run on genuinely dry ground. Can hold rating here.
Race 6 – Premiair Handicap (1200m)
Selections: 2, 9, 10, 11
BRAHMOS (2) is a former Sadler galloper resuming for new stable. Produced two big figures early in last prep. Should be fit enough here. ROYAL PHOENIX (9) was suited by the tempo two starts back when getting home hard. Unsuited last start. Can run well. BOLEK (10) resumed off a long spell and has been getting fitter each run. Should be nearing peak and senior jockey is on. ROX THE CASTLE (11) was well beaten first-up behind impressive winner. Advanced rating second-up last prep, no reason why it can’t do again.
Race 7 – Ascend Sales Trophies Handicap (1200m)
Selections: 5, 6, 11
IMMACULATE SECRET (5) was super-impressive first-up at Terang, winning and eased right down late. Terrific chance if holds rating here. SWORN EVIDENCE (6) resumes off a short break. In-and-out galloper but has figures to win here. Want on my side. VIVI VALENTINA (11) is a consistent filly, has produced the same figure both runs this prep. Maps well here, can hold rating.
Race 8 – Coast to Coast Handicap (2040m)
Selections: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 13
PALAZZO VECCHIO (1) ran well last start at the Valley. Steps to this trip for the first time which is a slight negative, but is very well graded here. AURORA ROSE (3) had two runs back from the spell in Sydney. Best figures are over further but looks to find front here. PIERROCITY (5) is racing well. Went back from wide barrier last start before hitting line well. May roll forward this time. QUEEN LEONORA (7) is on the quick back-up and stepping up in distance, but honest last start and gets an easy run from the inside barrier here. BIJOU BELLE (8) ran okay first-up over the shorter trip, but won second-up last time after a similar prep. Better out to this distance. FERN (9) steps to trip for the first time. Might be one run short but has chance if it can run the trip. BLUE JAY WAY (13) hit the line well first-up over the shorter trip. Best form is out over this trip. Will be running on well.
