Group 2 Sandown Guineas (1600 metres)
Three-year-olds, set weights
Put A Line Through….
I don’t like Syd’s Coin (6), Du To Pass (8), Predecessor (9), Igniter (10), or Achieve Victory (11).
#1 Long Leaf (Lindsay Park / Mark Zahra)
Interrupted prep and jumping to 1600 metres off a 1200-metre run. Hasn’t had the right prep for this, but prepared to see how it goes.
#2 Good ’N’ Fast (Lindsay Park / Luke Nolen)
No luck last start. Previous run in the Caulfield Guineas was solid, making good ground late. Will be getting home hard.
#3 Ringerdingding (Darren Weir / John Allen)
Produced powerful finish last two starts. On the quick back-up and steps to 1600 metres for the first time. Has an explosive sprint when able to be held up.
#4 Scottish Rogue (Tony McEvoy / Kerrin McEvoy)
Ran well last start over 1400m. Steps off a seven-day break to 1600 metres. Can hold rating.
#5 Secret Blaze (Tony McEvoy / Luke Currie)
Ran well in the Carbine Club on Derby Day over this trip. Can hold rating here.
#7 Zoutori (Ellerton & Zahra / Damian Lane)
Battled away well at Caulfield over 1400 metres, then held up in the Carbine before hitting the line well. Suited here from the inside draw.
#12 Seabrook (Mick Price / Damien Oliver)
Hit the line well in Thousand Guineas, then an honest run with every chance in the Group 1 Empire Rose on Derby Day.
I’ve got Ringerdingding on top from Seabrook, but both are slight unders in my opinion. From a betting perspective, there looks to be a slight bit of value in Good ‘N’ Fast and Zoutori, in a wide-open race.
Trevor Lawson heads up the successful Melbourne Ratings service, which boasts over $28,000 profit since May 2016.
Trev covers all Melbourne metro race meets; that’s all the meetings from Flemington, Caulfield, Moonee Valley and Sandown, ensuring there is plenty of action for members.
Each race day you’ll receive a full set of rated prices, speed maps and suggested bets with staking from Trevor, plus live betting updates throughout the day.
