Sandown Quaddie tips

Sandown Quaddie Preview

Trevor Lawson returns with his Sandown Quaddie tips ahead of the meeting. He’s taken some skinny legs as the bookends, leaving potential for a big collect.

Race 6 – Ladbrokes Cash Out Handicap (2100m)

#1 Lucky For All (Darren Weir / Ethan Brown)
Unbeaten this prep, and has improved each run producing impressive figure last start. Only has to hold here to be the one to beat.

#3 Heavenly Thought (Darren Weir / Ben Allen)
Progressive Weir runner, impressive last start when stepping out in distance. Still looks on the up.

Race 7 – Samson Handicap (1400m)

#5 King River (John Price / Ben Melham)
Impressive winner when resuming on wet track at Caulfield. Had 42 days off since and steps to 1400m but still has claims.

#6 Silvera (Tony McEvoy / Luke Currie)
Resumed with nice run at Caulfield over similar trip. Gets senior rider back on, second-up here.

#8 Galaxy Raider (Grahame Begg / Regan Bayliss)
Just missed last start after winning this track and distance start before. Has been running consistently this prep.

#9 Jaws Of Steel (Darren Weir / Ben Allen)
Won at similar trip last start at Caulfield. Only has to hold rating here to be competitive.

#11 Jamaican Rain (Richard Laming / TBC)
Huge win first-up on heavy track. Solid record this trip. Runs well early in prep.

Race 8 – Ladbrokes Info Hub Handicap (1600m)

#3 Velocita (Chris Waller / Dwayne Dunn)
Won a good rating race first-up three starts back. Beaten short-priced favourite next up, and then probably found the distance too hard in Adelaide. Back to the mile here, likely improver.

#4 Honey Esprit (Clinton McDonald / Brad Rawiller)
Racing well, steps to 1600m for first time.

#6 Miss Belisa (Darren Weir / Ethan Brown)
Won well at Bendigo two starts back, then never likely last start. Can bounce back here out to this trip.

#8 Smooth Landing (Hayes & Dabernig / Fred Kersley)
Ran well two starts ago over shorter trip. Never likely last start in high class race, better suited back in this class.

#9 Black And Tan (John Moloney / Regan Bayliss)
Terrific run last start at big odds over this trip, when covered ground and hit line hard. Drawn to go back, but has claims and good odds.

Race 9 – Ladbrokes Multimaker Handicap (1400m)

#1 Fifty Stars (Darren Weir / Brad Rawiller)
Unbeaten Weir colt that’s improved each run. Stays at same distance here, the one to beat.

#5 Andaz (Chris Waller / Ben Melham)
Got too far back behind Fifty Stars last start before rattling home at end. Can sit closer here from the better draw.

Summary:

Leg 1 – 1, 3
Leg 2 – 5, 6, 8, 9, 11
Leg 3 – 3, 4, 6, 8, 9
Leg 4 – 1, 5

Cost: $100 for 100%
