Warwick Farm review from Todd Burmester

Race 1 – Pace: AverageAdroitly: Had been racing like he was looking for this distance.  A strong win, can repeat it. Brightest: Tracked the winner into the straight but was outstayed in the run to the line A Shade Better: Did well to take a run closer to the fence and finished off ok Follow: Adroitly, A Shade Better Race 2 – Pace: Good Bello: Led and quickened well in the straight.  Seems to like the wet but could genuinely be pretty smart. Barbados: Ran well but just no match for the winner Alkie: Led equally with Bello and dropped out once they straightened, perhaps didn’t like the ground Diamond To Pegasus: Was there when they straightened but the ground didn’t look to suit in the straight Tidalzone: Got home well the last bit Doctor Doom: Finished off ok Follow: Bello, Tidalzone Race 3 – Pace: Fast Strike Alert: Led and kicked well on straightening but got a bit tired.  Perhaps on the worst ground.  Good run. Al’s Magic Miss: In a pretty good place most of the way, good sprint in the straight. Alcancia: Plenty of money to say it would win, sat wide but that probably didn’t matter on the heavy track, tried hard in the straight but could not catch the winner Pink Power and Matignon: Both kept plugging to the line for a pass mark Follow: Strike Alert Race 4 – Pace: Slow Beltane: Slow to move at the start, finished off ok. She’s a Rockstar: Basically equal in the lead, out in the better ground, finished best to win. Mindreader and Sophisticated Lass: Both finished off well enough for a pass mark Duke Of Cornwall: Led and slowed them up to a walk, didn’t find a great deal in the straight. Follow: None to follow, in a slowly run race Race 5 – Pace: Fast Rain Affair: Have you ever seen a more brilliant beginner? Another top win doing it at both ends.  Group Horse. Skytrain: Missed the start a bit and had to chase all the way, a good run. Yoburg: Usually leads but had nowhere near the pace of the winner today, found himself pushed along all the way, and kept trying hard. Rightson: Finished off pretty well although beaten a long way Follow: Rain Affair, Skytrain Race 6 – Pace: Average Essence Of Success: Led and then took a sit, had the sprint in the straight to get away from them and win, a very consistent horse. La Bella Luisa: Has been racing well, and made good ground again today a win is near. Shawnee Girl: Ran well coming home in what was probably the worst ground Miss Shamardal: Surprised me by leading, kept plugging away but no match for the winner Follow: Essence of Success, La Bella Luisa Race 7 – Pace: Average Savannah River: Led and under pressure before the turn, only an average run Delzera: Sat in the equal lead and had the best sprint in the straight as was the pattern of the day Upon This Rock: Made excellent ground in the straight.  Will win one eventually. Beg: Never in it today, too wet for it? M’Lady Pedrille: Missed the start and looks another that may not like it this wet? Follow: Upon This Rock Race 8 – Pace: Good Lion Cub: Another to find the “right spot” and have the best sprint upon straightening.  All the same it did gap them for a good win. Dunrossil: Looked beaten before the turn and then finished off really well.  Good run. O’Crikey: On the speed and just kept going at the same pace to run second Zakynthos Imprintz: Made fair ground right down the outside Mutawarath: Last out of the gates, settled last and  didn’t look that comfortable in the ground although kept coming to the line quite well Follow: Dunrossil, Mutawarath on a dryer track Summary of all runners to follow: Adroitly, A Shade Better, Bello, Tidal Zone, Strike Alert, Rain Affair, Skytrain, Essence Of Success, La Bella Luisa, Upon This Rock, Dunrossil, Mutawarath Black Book Specials: Skytrain, La Bella Luisa, Dunrossil
