Foundation Cup Preview Good race this one over 1800m and for a very good cause in the Zaidees Rainbow Foundation which promotes awareness of organ and tissue donations to help save the lives of other Australians. Vivid Vixen has been in top form this campaign and in the money at her last four. She won the Pakenham Cup before running second to Galizani in the Epona Stakes which is always a good form race. Then last start here over the 1800m she was able to dig deep when it counted and pull out a strong win against the boys. Looks well placed here to be winning again. Bucelatti is an import trained by Tony Noonan who didn’t fire in the spring. He is racing much better now and starts to get out to a more suitable distance. Last start he was beaten 4 lengths by Testa My Patience and the start prior when first up he was 4.6 lengths off Launay. Expect him to produce his best Australian effort tomorrow. Hawks Bay hits this race 4th up and has been thereabouts thus far this campaign. His 5.4 length 4th behind Flat Chat at Flemington should stand up pretty well here against this field. They claim down here with Stead, which means he will go around just ½ a kilo over the limit. Port Vell has been racing very consistently despite a shocker two starts back when he hung out and was subsequently vetted. Thought he went well enough last start considering he was coming off a 28 day break and racing over 2000m. Has drawn well here to get a nice run and should enjoy being back on his home track. Pacino is a very hard horse to catch but had been going very well lately until a dismal performance last start. His effort two starts back when 4th behind Vivid Vixen was very good and his sectionals that day suggest he is very close to winning. He is going to get a good run from the gate but they need to make sure they don’t get pushed too far back. Early selections: 1. Vivid Vixen 2. Port Vell 3. Pacino
