Our man is back with another betting preview on a huge day of action.
He’s now at 29-17 overall since joining us and has 3 more plays for NBA Wednesday, which features a possible Finals preview and a playoff decider in Florida.
San Antonio Spurs @ Charlotte Hornets - 10am
A huge win over the Celtics solidified the Spurs playoff credentials as LaMarcus Aldridge went off for 48 points 12 rebounds and 3 blocks.
When they started double teaming LA, DeMar DeRozan scored 8 points straight, then Davis Bertans hit 3 consecutive 3’s to put it beyond doubt.
This team isn’t short of offensive weapons so I wouldn’t be sleeping on them – even with their poor away record of 14-23.
The Charlotte Hornets are fresh off back-to-back wins over East heavyweights Boston and Toronto.
They finished the game on a 30-8 run to beat the Boston Celtics, before a last gasp heave from half court from Jeremy Lamb saw them nab the Raptors after the buzzer.
Kemba Walker was quoted before the Raptors games saying to the Raptors commentary team ‘We need this win more than you’. This is a team with an intent to win.
With Charlotte’s desperation to make the playoffs I’m taking them +6.5 at $1.68 with Unibet. The Spurs aren’t great away from home so I’m sticking with the value of the Hornets.
Orlando Magic @ Miami Heat - 10:30am
This is a seriously important match.
The Orlando Magic are one game behind the Heat in the race for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference heading into this match.
It’s a must win game for both teams, with the result deciding the tie-breaker and likely who makes the playoffs and who misses out.
Nikola Vucevic has been reclaiming his All-Star form of late, while the scoring punch of Terrence Ross off the bench is dangerous. It makes the Magic tough on their day.
You’d forgive the Heat for thinking they are a college team with their case of March Madness.
Winning 11 of their 14 games so far in March, Coach Erik Spoelstra has them playing as a unit. Bam Adebayo has been a revelation in the starting lineup and could be the key to their success for the rest of the season.
Any way you look at it this is going to be a great contest.
I can’t split these teams. I’m leaning more towards the Heat winning but they are priced at just $1.43, leaving no value in them. Instead I’ll take the Magic with a ‘pick your own’ line of +8.5 at $1.75 with Unibet.
Houston Rockets @ Milwaukee Bucks - 11am
James Harden is doing something we haven’t seen since the great Wilt Chamberlain.
He’s put up a whopping 177 points and 28 three-pointers in his last four games to be pretty much unstoppable.
Houston have been on such a good run since he has come alive and this is going to be a test for them. A 20-17 record away from home says they travel relatively well, but Harden is going to have to be at his best again to lead the Rockets to victory over the best team in the NBA.
For the Bucks to be 30-6 at home is a phenomenal record, with Giannis and co. having made the Fiserv Forum a very tough place to play this season.
One of two MVP candidates in this match-up, Giannis Antetokounmpo will look to steer this team to another big win in what could quite possibly be the NBA Finals match-up this season.
Yet again I can’t split these teams, but the Bucks have the advantage cos they are at home.
So yet again I’m playing it safer and taking the Rockets at a ‘pick your own’ line of +6.5 at $1.69 with Unibet.
Charlotte +6.5 – $1.68
Orlando +8.5 – $1.75
Houston +6.5 – $1.69
All markets available with Unibet.
