As the team behind Champion Bets player prop services across the AFL, NRL, NFL and NBA, Brett’s Betting Syndicate is highly experienced in building data-rich models the allow pricing of the hundreds of side markets offered by bookmakers on major sports.
Their Brownlow betting model factors in a myriad of AFL player stats, and also takes into account individual umpire preferences as they relate to the probability of players receiving votes in any particular game.
The Brownlow Medal is the AFL’s most prestigious individual award, bestowed upon the player judged to be the fairest and best performer across the season.
Umpires award votes for each match on a 3-2-1 basis, with the leading eligible player at the end of the vote count declared the Brownlow Medallist.
But outside of the winner, there are literally hundreds of markets available with bookmakers on the Brownlow Medal, including vote markets on individual clubs, games, rounds and groups of players.
Total Brownlow will supply as many value bets as possible across the huge number of markets available, with a preference for those markets available at multiple bookmakers.
In addition, members will receive a copy of the Brownlow console, which will allow them to test updated bookie pricing “on the fly” and ascertain if it still represents value.
Members will receive at least fifty value bets across all Brownlow markets. Each recommended bet will include:
- Recommended stake
- Recommended price
- Available bookmakers
In addition, members will be provided with the syndicate’s Brownlow console, which is an Excel model that allows members to plug in current bookmaker prices on available markets, and ascertain whether that price represents value. If prices move, you’ll still be able to ensure you’re betting to value.
Recommended bets and the Brownlow console will be released to members at 5pm (AEST) on Monday, September 23rd. This will give members two to three hours of betting time prior to the Brownlow Medal count.
Release will be delivered in the members section on the website, direct to your email, and straight to your smartphone via our iPhone and Android apps.
In addition to your Total Brownlow membership, you’ll need:
- Access to the recommended betting accounts to ensure you have as many options as possible to get your bets on. All bookmakers offer a wide range of Brownlow Medal markets, with the Total Brownlow service focused on those available with BetEasy, TopSport and Sportsbet. Other bookmakers that will prove useful include:
- A simple understanding of the basics of value betting and bankroll management, which you can get here at our Betting Academy.
- A positive attitude and a desire to win!

Total Brownlow will bet into a range of markets on Brownlow night, with expectations of 100+ bets.
Just like player prop markets, the bookies often make mistakes in smaller ‘side’ markets, and this is where Brett’s team pounces.
Every market is analysed and bets are recommended where value is identified.
Results are recorded at the recommended fixed price available at time of release on the Champion Bets results page.
WHEN & WHERE
The service covers the Brownlow Medal event.
There will be a singular betting update, with tips released at 5pm on Brownlow night (Monday, 23rd September).

WHO TO BET WITH
The Brownlow is a big event, with every Australian bookie covering it extensively, although lines and prices will differ.
Members with access to a number of corporate bookmaker accounts (as well as Betfair) will naturally have access to a wider range and thus potentially better prices.
The use of an odds comparison tool such as Oddschecker or SportsPunter is recommended to ensure you capture the best available price.
WHEN TO BET
You should place your bets as soon as you can upon receiving them: preferably being set up with your accounts and ready to bet when the message arrives.
We’re located in Melbourne so please feel free to drop us a line if you have any questions 9am-5pm AEST Monday to Saturday.
