AFL
Carlton have snatched back top sport on the AFL line ladder, recording another cover after the market made them slight underdogs against the Saints. The Blues went on to win by ten points to recover top spot from Brisbane, who went in 7.5 point favourites against Geelong but only saluted by one point.

The Bulldogs continued their late-season charge up the line ladder, smashing GWS by 61 points after the market gave them a 5.5 point head start.
Game to watch this week
- North Melbourne (-25.5) vs Melbourne (+25.5): If the 2019 line ladder has shown us anything, it’s that you can’t go too far wrong opposing Melbourne each week. They’ve got a 25.5 point head start against the Roos, but you’d be brave to back the Dees. They’ve shown little sign of reversing their woeful form and may well end the season with an appropriate whimper.
NRL
Canberra snatched the unlikeliest of victories after being down 18-0 in Melbourne, ensuring they covered another line and continued to stalk the Sea Eagles at the top.

At the other end of the table the Titans continued to free-fall, now sitting 50 points worse off than any other side in the comp against the line this season. The end of the year can’t come quick enough.
Game to watch this week
- Melbourne (-20) vs Gold Coast (+20): One of the bigger lines you’ll see in a match of NRL, but will it still be enough for the Titans to cover? After blowing a match-winning lead last week you’d expect the Storm to be fired up, and the hapless Titans are sitting ducks at the moment. This could get very ugly for the visitors.
