backing 2nds variance

The Melbourne Cup carnival came to a close with Mackinnon Stakes day, and as always there was plenty of punting action for us to take a look back at.

We start in the Sunshine State where members of Queensland Winners enjoyed a strong Saturday with 2 winners from 3 races:

  • Hold The Line ($3.20) shortened and won well late in the day at the Sunshine Coast
  • Snitch ($7) defied the drift to claim honours a race later

$680 profit for the day, taking total profit to over $3,400 since launch.

Key Bets members had another winning weekend with 2 winners, but a crushing beat in the Stakes was tough to swallow:

  • Ringerdingding ($4.40) flew home down the outside for a huge victory
  • Prize Catch ($8.50) got the job done in Perth for a winning day

That’s HUGE!

Ringerdingding, WEIRY’s the KING.

Latrobe ($6, 2nd) looked the winner in the Mackinnon Stakes but couldn’t seem to make up ground close to the line, eventually going down by a nose in a very frustrating result.

TRAP FOR FOOLS upsets them all in the Group 1 Seppelt Mackinnon Stakes.

It was a winning weekend nonetheless with just shy of $400 profit for members.

A small outlay saw a small profit for Trial Spy members as Cosmic Force ($3.10) beat home saver bet Blazing Miss ($2.80) in an easy watch.

Two betting races produced $160 profit, pushing total profit since the start of June to $12,200.

Jameeh ($3.30) provided the highlight for Trev’s Bets members, picking itself up off the canvas at the 100 to fight back after being headed in a monster win.

What a race!

Jaameh was up for the fight against Sully in a thrilling Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Earlier it was Manuel ($2.40) who provided the heartache, getting held up for a run before finishing strongly to go down by a nose hair much to the dismay of punters.

Loyalty Man prevails by the barest of margins from Manuel, who was lifting late.

A tough day in South Australia for Barby’s Bets members, with some strong chances not being quite good enough. Tongsai Boss ($1.90) was the exception, doing as a short favourite should in Race 3.

No joy in Sydney for NSW Winners members or Perth for WA Winners members on a day where not much went right for either analyst.

Across the ditch it was a similar tale of ‘close but no cigar’ for NZ Tips members with Madiuro ($6) screaming home but falling just short of victory near the line, before Crown Prosecutor ($3.50, 2nd) and Heavenly Emperor ($3.60, 3rd) were both unable to secure victory in the very next race.

NFL Tips members were looking good for a winning weekend, but a flurry of 4th quarter points in the Sunday Night Football match-up of Cowboys vs Eagles made it a 2-3 weekend.

  • LA Chargers and Oakland (Under 49) played out a dire contest
  • Seattle (+10) went close to upsetting the LA Rams on the road

NBA First Halves and NBA Specials are now both in profit as we approach the end of the first month of the season. Specials finished the weekend with a $800 profit, while First Halves enjoyed a strong couple of days to also come out of the weekend in the black.

As Spring racing season draws to a close, the focus shifts from Melbourne to Western Australia for their Group 1 season, while the NBA and NFL seasons are now in full swing, with the Superbowl in fact already less than 3 months away.

Onwards and upwards we go.

While there were plenty of ups and downs over the Spring racing season, and even just in Cup week alone, one man was a consistent performer – The Professor.

Less than 2 months since Queensland Winners launched and the results are outstanding – 19 winners from 58 races for $3,401 profit at 56% profit on turnover.
