Last week Luke thought that there were only three winning chances in the race – Dunaden, Americain and Galileo’s Choice. But the barrier draw changed things and after a lot of work on the speed map he believes that backmarkers are going to be disadvantaged and that counts against Dunaden and Americain. But the map for Mourayan looks excellent. He should be right up there on what looks to be only an average tempo and he’s a good tough horse. Luke recommends trifecas and first fours as the way to go with Dunaden, Galileo’s Choice, Green Moon and Mourayan for first. Then add Americain, Cavalryman, Ethiopia and Zabeelionaire for the minor placings. Of the fancied runners, he doesn’t rate Mount Athos, Red Cadeaux or Maluckyday as serious winning chances. Fiorente has talent but won’t enjoy the likely firm track. There are a few horses he believes are just making up the numbers and they are Tac De Boistron, Sanagas, Glencadam Gold, Winchester, Unusual Suspect, Voila Ici and Jakalberry plus possibly Niwot and Precedence.
