Saturday’s tips (April 4th 2015)

In Thursday’s newsletter we mentioned that we’d post some tips for Saturday here on the blog.

But with day one of The Championships postponed here are five races we’re betting into on Monday:

From the Trial Spy:

12.00 Randwick R2 N4 Washington Heights, Bet: Win, Units: 1.00 units
BOB. Finished home strongly from last for 4th under no pressure in quick Rosehill 900m Mar 21 trial. IVR 53.9 3rd quickest of 12 trials on day. Then looked strong again winning Rosehill Mar 31 heavy track trial. Time slow but finished off well. Was excellent on debut when ran a strong 2nd in the Group 3 Kindergarten on a heavy track behind Hallowed Crown. Dipped at start but finished home strongly in Rosehill 900m Aug 4 trial. Charged home for 2nd first up in the San Domenico then flat second up. Excellent run first up this prep when narrowly beaten hitting the line hard. Had no luck second up, forgive. Blinkers come off here, up to the mile should suit and can handle the wet

12.00 Randwick R2 N5 Hi World, Bet: Win, Units: 1.00 units
BOB. Has strong form around the likes of Kermadec, Stratum Star and Orient Line, and lumped 59kg to win on a heavy track last start. Strong chance here.

And from our Tips package:

1.00 Sandown R2 N1 Absolute Treasure , Bet: 1.50 units
Ran on strongly at Moonee Valley two starts back to be beaten 0. 2l. Then had a tough run last start and was only beaten 0. 4l by a fairly handy horse in Go Jennio. Capable of breaking through here.

2.45 Sandown R5 N12 Primeiro, Bet: 1.50 units
Jumping straight from a maiden to a Group 2 at your 2nd start is a very tough task and she was well beaten, but not disgraced. Clearly better suited here back to a BM64 and out to a mile.

4.04 Oakbank R6 N1 Cavaloce, Bet: 2.60 units
Her wins this prep have rated well and she has more upside than most of these. Maps to get a nice run midfield before sprinting home strongly.

4.20 Randwick R9 N6, Royal Descent, Bet: 0.80 win and place
Only fair first-up in the Canterbury Stakes but her second-up run in the George Ryder was a much better effort. Waller will have her at her top today, she loves the wet and the bonus is Moreira.
