Last year we invited Phil on to the Betting 360 Podcast right at the time he was making the big jump from recreational punter to full-time professional. Now he’s back on the blog after our request for a review of the UK Racing Tips package from a member’s perspective.
When too much racing is never enough, there’s always the UK…
The UK Racing tips membership has opened up a punting avenue that I hadn’t previously considered. The tips come from a professional UK based betting syndicate with close contacts and networks within several of the country’s largest and most successful stables.
What Do You Get?
Each afternoon from Monday to Friday at around 8.00pm AEDT, the subscriber receives a preview of that days (our night) racing action. The betting advice is sent via email and the Champion Bets app. Typically around 6 tips are provided each week along with recommended staking, price and the bookies where that price is available.
The UK racing tips are supported by a huge amount of accompanying information. Form details, quirks of the individual tracks, expected conditions and insider stable information are included.
The selections tend to focus around the top end of the market ($2.00-$5.00 range). The advantage of this strategy is that it returns a relatively high strike rate which reduces variance and minimises losing runs.
Set & Forget
Unless you`re a serious night owl, the chances are that you’re putting on these bets and then checking the results when you wake up the next morning. A selection in an early race might be on at around 11:00pm, but most are way past my bedtime.
Having a Betfair account is a necessity as many of the tips are advised to be backed at the Betfair SP. The syndicate advises which bets to take an early value price with the Aussie corporate bookies. Their record in this regard was pretty good – beating the BSP more often than not. Useful accounts to have for the service are Bet365, Sportsbet and Crownbet.
The usual disclaimer applies that results over a 4 week period are fairly irrelevant relative to the long term. However, I sampled a month of the UK tips and the result was a small profit.
For the month I had 40 bets for 13 winners which is a 32.5% strike rate. A total outlay of 76 units returned 1.5 units profit. The top end of the market strategy resulted in a longest losing sequence of only 4 bets so it is a fairly easy service to follow from a psychological point of view.
If you keep normal hours and are all about watching and cheering on your picks then this package probably isn’t for you.
If, on the other hand, you`re looking for a low stress, minimal effort way to diversify your action and increase your turnover, the UK Racing Tips definitely fits the bill.
The Champion Bets profit guarantee gives you confidence that they believe it`s a long term winner and besides that, how often do you get to say you backed a winner at Yarmouth or Pontefract?
We’re excited to announce that our UK Racing Tips membership is now live.
There are 3 key ingredients in why it wins:
- Custom ratings that accurately measure the relative merit of a horse’s performance
- Intimate knowledge of horses, jockeys, trainers and tracks
- Stable mail that provides good insights into runner fitness, likely speed maps and target races
If you’re interested in 1 or 2 best bets each weeknight, betting into a market where you’ll never be banned, then take a very close look at the UK Racing Tips.
You can expect a 40% strike-rate and 10% Profit on Turnover.

An Example Update:
Monday October 22nd
Small fields at Plumpton today due to the firm ground. King Cnut is back to where he showed improved form last time on his fencing debut. This is a weak event and I do not think it will take anything better than his last run to win. He is well treated at the weights and looks like he needs this longer trip. The stable are happy with his fitness and odds against is a good price.
2.50 Points Win at Betfair SP.
